New order. Old tricks?

Featured Replies

I got a copy of the order form whe ni placed the order and invoice on collection, all matched and i got everything we had agreed to.

Hmmmm interesting, I ordered my Yeti 2.0TDi 140 4x4 on 12th August, paid the deposit and have a receipt for that but apart from a phone call on the 16th August to ask if I wanted blue or silver stitching, I've not received a new car order form or anything.

I was given a delivery estimate of 8 - 10 weeks (07th - 21st October).

Having never ordered a new car before I've assumed (possibly foolishly) that Skoda Warrington are doing everything that they should, but now I'm wondering ........ should I have a form or paperwork detailing exactly what I'm expecting to collect in 9 weeks ish?

Yes you should get an order form! The dealer I'm ordering from sent me the order form by email after a couple of days, as I had put the deposit down over the phone in order to quickly secure the deal. I went in to sign the paperwork after I'd read the email.

As your Yeti is due soon, I'm guessing you didn't add any extras and it's a stock vehicle? I only ordered Light Assistant+auto dimming mirror as an extra, with my SE Plus 2.0 TDi 110PS ordered on the 8th of August yet it isn't due until the 31st of October! I chose blue seats btw, I bet most people choose silver

Yes, surely, signed by both parties!  Otherwise how will you and the dealer know and agree exactly what was ordered and what actually delivered and what the financial state is?  I recommend that you sort this out soonest, or earlier :wonder:

Walked out of the showroom with the vehicle order but no delivery date. Went back in with my son a few days later who now has on order a new Octavia VRS Estate with a delivery date of the 1st week in September. I enquired on a delivery date for my Yeti and he said he would try to get one ready for the same collection date as my son. So here's hoping :-)

Well stock black yeti SE 2.0TDi 140ps but with space saver wheel and false floor, off road button, dog guard and towball plus towing electrics - I think the towball and towing electrics are being fitted at the dealers. As far as I'm concerned, I'm picking up the completed package from the dealers so they are responsible and its covered by warranty, hopefully!

Sorted :sun:  Confusion between myself and the salesman. My fault  . Yeti will be built 2nd week in October and was ordered on day one. The salesman was trying to get a cancelled order for me to save the wait as I asked if he could get one sooner. Took the opportunity to add a couple of extra's to the build. Son's new VRS Estate is on track for 1st week September.

Emailed the dealers yesterday, listing exactly what I'm expecting to pick up and dropped in today to see the salesman I dealt with who had been off and hadn't seen my email.

He replied to my email as I sat there so I have it in writing - me listing what I'm expecting to pick up and his email confirming that's what they will be delivering!

So fingers crossed

Dealers have just emailed to say build week is 3rd week of September and received for delivery 3rd week of October - seems a lifetime away!

Got offered an SE Plus in Shark Blue for delivery 2nd week Sept. I have added some options to mine now so I declined the offer.

Nearly there. Confusion over when I will actually get delivery was told it would be built in October then delivery either the 1,2 or 3 week Of October. Weeks 1 and 2 have passed so it must be week 3?

WRONG, rang the dealer on Monday to be told it was at port in 'Emden' and should be here within 3 weeks.

I 'hate' waiting :-)

Phone call from dealer this morning. Yeti arrived this morning and will be ready for collection on Tuesday at 11:30. :sun:

Reading through other posts on the forum it would appear that from time scales from ordering to vehicle handover can be a  bit vague. In my case the waiting is now over and I can now look forward to the pleasure of driving my new Yeti.
