JR Driveshafts! Avoid

Featured Replies

4th unopened driveshaft thrown straight into the skip at work!

Thought about selling on ebay but then thought no i'd just end up with negative feedback

Are these yours or just ones that you can not be bothered to hold on to until the vendor can arrange to collect them.?

If J&R Driveshafts' are happy enough to have such a waste of their property, then thats their concern,

just seems all a bit silly though to me.

First 2 got exchanged

3rd one was knackered so i sourced a genuine one, told them this so they sent a 4th

So i fitted the genuine item and all was good!

So binned the knackered 3rd one (was told not to return), and when the 4th arrived i binned it too (lets face its no.4 is going to be the same story as no.1 / 2 + 3)

Don't get me wrong customer service is really good its just the product doesn't match up to the service

Nothing worse than being shafted!

On a serious note, I assume this this exercise cost more than just buying either a genuine new or genuine reconditioned driveshaft?

You deserve at least a refund, hope you get it.

I got a refund in the end, along with another driveshaft (now binned)

So i didnt lose anything apart from my time to change it twice over

They reversed transaction on ebay after giving me a refund, only so i didnt negative feedback them i guess

So a thread revival. My Fab SD1 at 165k decided it didn't like the original near side drive shaft anymore. Now if it was a VRS then perhaps I'd have gone for a new OEM one. However the Sdi with only 64 bhp doesn't warrant the expense. And so I ordered a complete shaft from J&R. Ordered yesterday and it was sent via DPD overnight so you can track it in real time so no need to wait in all day wondering when it will arrive which is cool. Tom the DPD man arrived at 10.35 this morning then it was out to the garage to remove old and replace with the new J&R shaft. The whole job took about an hour as I'm old and was working with trolley Jack and axle stands. The only issue was the supplied drive shaft nut that looks to be made of cheese and so I didn't even attempt to fit it. Instead a new OEM nut was used. All back together and no more knocking. As I do loads of miles in little Leo I will report back and see if the J&R £40 Ebay special shaft is any good. Maybe they have now got their act together. Fingers crossed.

I replaced both driveshafts on my fiesta a year/10,000 miles ago. I was recommended them by a friend.

They fit fine and have been fine with no issues since. They were much cheaper than OEM ones so I am happy so far :)

I fitted one of theirs at the start of last year. Lasted 8 months then the inner CV went noisy and notchy. I was in a rush, so I agreed to buy another one of them and sent the first back after I'd changed it for a refund. Sent it back and still waiting for the money, so I'll be small claimsing them when I get time.

2 minutes to remind them with an email, and a quick phone call to back that up seems easier.

You have named them anyway now, so others can pick up on it.

Maybe they will do the right thing and refund you.
