Boot protector - Superb 11 Estate

Featured Replies

Any recommendations on where best and what to buy?

Seems there are a number of sites advertising non Skoda accessories

Also has any one bought a bumper protector and, if so, any thoughts on colour selection?

My car is silver and don't know whether to go for the same colour or a darker shade.

I have the twindoor, not the estate but I've always bought genuine Skoda boot mats, including for my previous Octavia's.

They fit perfectly and seem very good quality.

I'm sure the aftermarket ones can be just as good but as the genuine Skoda ones are comparably priced it's a no-brainer for me.

Remember if the eBay efforts look too good to be true then they often are.

My mother in-law bought some cheap rubber floor mats off eBay and they stink of creosote, I actually think the smell is so strong it could be dangerous!

Thanks for your input

I have been quoted £140 from Skoda for a fitted boot protector versus £40 from an after market supplier

Seems quite a mark up even allowing for possible quality differentials

You can't go wrong with a Hatchbag fully tailored bootliner, I have one in the boot of my Superb estate to protect it from my 3 dogs. They have all sorts of different options and colours. They are a really good company to do business with too - my Superb was the first one they came across with the 'lowered' boot floor so the first liner they sent did not fit. I aranged to visit them, they scanned the boot and made me a new liner to fit. I can't recommend them highly enough. The liners are £85.

I also fitted a bumper protector from Rearguards, a great fit and has stopped my bumper from being ruined

£140!?

Is it made out of carbon fibre!?

I have this one (but in the twindoor) and it cost just less than £40 delivered and has the Superb logo on it too...

I bought a cheap ebay type with the raised lip to contain any spills.

They are about £30 delivered and are described as rubber but seem to feel much more like plastic than rubber, they also scag like plastic but offer the protection you would expect and are good value for money.

I had found lots of sites selling the same thing at quite a price variation but on enlarging the photographs they all looked identical..

+1

I have this as well in my elegance estate.  Fits nicely in between the side rails.

£40ish from the Skoda dealer.

Yep, this is perfect for the job, looks good, ticks all the boxes.

Also bought this set of mats  http://www.skodaparts.com/product/superb-4-piece-rubber-floor-mat-set-2008-2014-21288 (for DSG)

Can recommend SkodaParts, give great service

I've got the Genuine Skoda rubber one in my estate. Brilliant quality, really heavy and thick rubber. £38 plus delivery off eBay. No brainier.

Thanks for all the feedback on this

Just to advise a Heavy Duty Boot Dish (part No 3T9061162) for the estate is £150.00

The Bootliner is a more modest £40.00 which seems more reasonable

I thought this was an enquiry for a Bumper Protector?

If so I got one via fleabay. My car is Amethyst and I have a Black bumper protector. Well worthwhile.

I'm a scuba diver so forever hauling cylinders in & out of the boot. It provides great protection.

Admittedly expensive for a bit of bent plastic but good for me!

The title mentions boot protector, the post mentions bumper protector.

The OP then makes a comment specific to the boot protector in post #11.

As for bumper protectors I have the Milotec version on our Octavia Scout and can recommend it. It's very tough and durable - but not cheap...

They do them for the Superb MkII as well, in both aluminium colour (as above) or black...

As I said they aren't cheap but they very much a case of "you get what you pay for" as they are very good quality.
