Seven designs of steering wheel?

Featured Replies

In the new Yeti FL press release it states:

"...new 3-spoke steering wheels in seven variations..."

Eh?!  What would that mean?  Colours?  With stitching and without?  Or best of all with paddles for the DSG or without?!

In the Octavia brochure it states:

"For an added sporty feeling and drive on models equipped with DSG, a 3 spoke steering wheel with paddles can be ordered, allowing you to control both entertainment and gear shift."

The steering wheel looks like the standard Octavia mk 3 and FL Superb ones but I can't find seven different steering wheels for them either...

probably includes all variations of MFSW I'd have thought.

^^ could be:

1) without any controls

2) with controls but not phone

3) with controls and phone

4) with controls but not phone BUT inc paddles

5) with controls and phone AND inc paddles

er, not sure on the rest?

Ah ok...  as prosaic as that!  Bless.

So in that case I have high hopes that FINALLY the DSG Yeti will get paddles.   :giggle:   Or at the very least the option to have them.

Looking on the bright side, it will have buttons on both sides still. Heaven.

The Rapid (and Fabia) only have one button, forcing you to simulate some kind of Freemasons initiation ceremony just to dial a number on the stalk.

Cheap and not very cheerful.

6)  with controls and phone AND inc paddles and it turns the wheels

7)  with controls and phone AND inc paddles and it doesn't turn the wheels

I remember when I (nearly) bought a Yeti in 2011, the choice of 3 wheels confused me, due to lack of pictures in the brochure.

Maybe a detachable F1 style wheel option?

What about -

8) with controls and phone and paddles and Spam

etc

Rapid is getting buttons on both sides with a three spoke wheel as of the week 33 "mini facelift"

Maybe the two higher speced get black or brown choice (along with a brown or black mini pack of stuff)?

Winter and summer steering wheels? :-)

16" and 17" - with thick grip and with low profile grip... ... ...there's another four combinations.

D'you think the secs at SUK will offer us ALL of them, or should we get TP on the case to get special dispensation, saying that theres less wear on the wrist with the thicker handful.

Ok, ok - I'm going ( or should that read 'gone'?)!!

How about a side-stick so I can hold my coffee in the other hand?

Oh lordy, I can imagine the endless threads on this...

'17" gives better handling!'

'Yeah, but 16" gives a better ride!'

'I HATE YOU'

'YOU SMELL'

etc... ;)

Can I have one with a big rotary switch in the middle, so that I can turn the radio up and down whilst going around corners. It's most difficult having to chase the volume roller thingy on bends!
