tinted headlights?

Featured Replies

What options are legal ie plastidip if you can.... laminex ....and what else can I use ??

Try a tint spray then ask an MOT station to check that you still get a good beam pattern.

Plasti-dip will cover the light not just tint it.

You need tinting vinyl, lamin-x is good or flyeyes is cheaper and easier to apply.

There are cheaper versions of both on eBay :)

Ebay stuff is pretty good. flyeyes are ok but you'll need some bright bulbs to get good light through them as i found out one night and couldnt see :D

Ah pikachu im glad you have mentioned fly eyes, I am thinking about getting black tint but do need stronger headlights. Are they 100% legal, last thing I want is to be pulled over for it lol

I've never been pulled for mine, had it fitted over 12 months :)

Tinted headlights, why?

Pureply aesthetic Steve.

I've heard good things about laminx. How hard is it to split the headlamp unit and "murder" the internals (paint the non-reflective areas black) as this gives the best results in my opinion?

Easy enough to split using a heat gun. I Idid it on my old fabia and also on my type r. Sand down the chrome to prep it for spraying.

As for fly eyes it does reduce light output a fair whack, I wouldn't use it again .

Where the insurers happy to accept it as a mod?

I've used flyeyes on mine, didn't notice any huge difference in beam strength. And passed an MOT with them no problems..

I had fly eyes on my bike and have lamin x on my car. I haven't noticed a drop in output in my car but on my bike I noticed it a fair bit!

Hmmmm, tint the headlights then put in stronger bulbs

I did my octavia with lamin x as doesnt have them stupid holes like fly eyes so doesnt look tacky, its also adds a bit of protection to the like and very easy to fit
