Climate Control Issue?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Not been on here for a while, but thought I'd ask about this.....

I'm 10k miles down the road with a Mar '13 Elegance 140. All had been going well (apart from the tyres.. I hate 'em). Breezing around in the recent hot weather I had the climate pretty much at 18-19 most of the time, no problems, lovely and cool. Now the weather has cooled off a bit I was finding the inside of the car a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings. So upping the temperature to 21 I thought I would warm up pretty quick, but no, it was still icy cold.

I've found that I have to set temp to 24 before there is any trace of warmth coming through the dash vents and then higher still to get it reasonably warm (not hot). Has any body else come across this?

Leaving the car overnight I found that the setting of 24 was warm straight away as the engine warmed up. Setting it lower resulted in icy cold air which wont go away until I set the temp right up to the Red.

Cheers

I think what you're describing is quite normal. Set at 21,22 and 23, I doubt you would feel anything...sorta room temperature. If you wanted it warmer/hotter you'd need to raise it up to 24/25. The climate control would then keep the temperature more or less at that level.

Regards

Mike.

Yes, mine behaves like this, though I don't like it. Every other car I've had with climate, you can set the temperature and it just works all year. On the Superb, it even seems to be not warm enough if its dark outside, and need turning down when it's the same temperature outside, but light. I'm sure my previous superb wasn't like this. At least its not just me.
