vRS cornering fogs will not be included.

Featured Replies

At dealers now. He has desktop alert from this morning that cornering fogs will not be included in cars ordered or existing orders.

Still going to order my vRS anyway... but thought some would like to know. For those who have already ordered I'm afraid it sound like you'll not be getting quite what you expected.

:(

Shame, not the end of the world though.

well thats a bit naughty and wonder why as its only a software thing?

cant say im much bothered as I turned mine off on my mkii vrs as I got too many people asking me if my lights were faulty!

We'll probably be able to turn it back on through vcds anyway

My Elegance has cornering fogs, however the fog light units fitted to the VRS look completely different which might be something to do with it.

I would be thinking they don't have them at all!

no fogs?

no fogs?

Fogs yes. Just no motors in them for cornering i would presume.

ah right.  I wasnt aware they had motors as the mkii just turned on and off.  Theyll be telling us next theres no xenons on that VRS youve ordered mr worrall  :wall:

how a company can make so many mistakes on the launch of a car, its a wonder they're still in business.  Im just glad its not a golf mk 7 gtd with their huge delays

The car does have fogs, the unit mimics the location of the leds on the MK2. As to the cornering function.....id alkost put money on the fact it could be coded with VCDS at a later date. To be fair though I still think given the car comes with nearly 1100 quids worth of cornering bi-xenons its really no great loss

On my car the bi-xenons have motors and move up and down and side to side, however I'm fairly sure that the fog lights don't and just go on and off -they also come on when you put the indicator on. Cornering fogs are for low speed manovering and don't work above a certain speed -bendy xenons for high speed.

yeah still no great loss IMO, rather no cornering fogs than lose out on Bi-xenons. In fact alot of cars now with Bi-xenons/LED lights do without fog lights altogether.

....that said is a fair shout, SUK's marketing dept clearly doesnt understand its product properly and about time it stopped making gaffs like this.

Yeah it will have fogs just not in black ... I presume chrome ... and they will not corner at low speed. Do the BI xenon move as standard. I thought that was an option ?

The bi-xenons in conjunction with the light assist alter their beam pattern in heavy rain etc -I've yet to drive my Octavia in the fog to find out how much front fogs are needed

Cool. Managed to get another few hundred quid off dealer anyway as a result ;)

well, its worth about £100 on a VRS if you go by the options for the SE and elegance as the VRS "was" supposed to get them as standard.

Cornering frontfog lights (upgrade from no fog lights) PW2 --- £208.33 £250.00

Cornering frontfog lights (upgrade from fog lights) PW2 - - £83.33 £100.00

so what did you order then ;)

I've been told about 13 weeks. So late Nov.

Eh? What makes you think they won't be black? Black or silver won't have any effect on the cornering function....

The vRS brochure, even the Aug 2013 PDF version says the vRS has:

"Cornering fog lights with darkened surround"

The salesman showed me the desktop alert this morn. It says words to the effect of its a print error, they are standard fogs not cornering and do not have the black/dark surround.

Fogs yes. Just no motors in them for cornering i would presume.

There isn't a motor in the fogs, they're just turned on and off when you turn at less than 15mph.

Well Skoda will have to give me the cost of that option as stated above before I accept the car i find them useful and was glad to see it was a standard option. Hopefully I can enable it on my vcds like I did before. However I will still be demanding a reduction.

Jeez, you'd think it would be easier for Skoda to ask the plant to simply enable them than mess about issuing corrective bulletins to their dealer network and annoying their customers.
