  • Uh oh! An Octaviaaaaaaargh to go with the Citi-Go-Go?

  • Don't want to send this too far off topic or one of the new mods will be along in a moment to slap my wrist...   But yes, I've had a deposit in since December 2012, deliveries start for RHD in Sprin

  • Yep, I've heard it is a nice engine, but like the 1.9 TDI its far behind the times and will go.   I just looked on vw.de and the Alltrack is sold with the 210hp 2.0 TSI. Put that in the Scout here a

Looks great:

...

It does. Only the rims should be changed on this one...

Yeah, needs wider, lower profile tyres ;)

I do hope they offer it on suitable wheels though, unlike the VW Alltrack and Audi Allroad. At least the new Octavia 4x4 is available on 55 profile 16s.

That's more like it. Thanks for posting Johann. Very Audi Allroad IMO, just needs the 1.8tsi for me. :)

I think it is a photochop from an Allroad, isn't it? Looks nice and mostly discreet. I'm not sure SUK will be allowed to sell a petrol one though, judging past decisions :(

Why? I loved the 1.8tsi in the Scout. I nearly wet that way instead of the Yeti but wanted to wait for the new platform. :)

I'm not saying the shouldn't, I think I might switch from diesel if they sell a Scout with one of the newer higher efficiency petrols, but they don't currently offer any petrol 4x4 options on the Octy 3.

I'm not sure if they sold any petrol Superb Outdoors while those were on sale. VW also don't sell any petrol Alltracks in the UK. Edit: You can't buy a petrol A6 Allroad either.

19'' should be standard obv ;) Would look 'unique' after a day's ride on some rocky terrain...

245/30R20 will do fine ;)

Don't say it out loud, I genuinely worry they might do it. I have a feeling, based on nothing at all, other than the 4x4 is manual only, that it will be DSG only.

As I said in the Yeti FL thread, what people want that don't want DPF issues but still want an auto with some oomph is a petrol DSG with the Fabia vRS engine.  180hp 1,4 DSG.  Job done.  But alas not possible.  All we get on the Yeti is the ancient and only 160hp 1,8 with woeful economy and emissions and NO DSG...

I have never had DPF issues and do about 10,000 miles a year.  So I won't have an issue getting a Scout with a TDI engine.  But would prefer a petrol DSG.

I just looked on vw.de and the Alltrack is sold with the 210hp 2.0 TSI. Put that in the Scout here and I may start buying the fuel that comes from the weedy tiny nozzle. It will not happen though. I would even be almost willing to bet.

Those pictures are old and article confirms they photoshopped trims from old Scout onto new estate body.

New Scout will almost certainly get 1.8TSI as it's the only one currently paired as DSG 4x4 in continental SE(Ambition)/Elegance trims (strangely enough I don't think there is diesel DSG 4x4 in lineup anymore). 6 speed wet clutch DSG, slightly tweaked torque for perfect towing vs offroad balance. TBH if Skoda UK don't start selling those soon then someone should set up grey import through Cyprus like Subaru dealers used to back in a day. It would be insane not to as 1.8TSI DSG combination is by far the best pick out of the lineup, XDS, proper multilink suspension, option of 4x4 in Elegance etc.

Is there a 1.4TSI haldex DSG in any VAG format at the moment?

Hence my question mark in the thread title v0n.  I know they are PhotoShopped.

As to 1,4 and Heldex...  not as far as I know hence I know it is a pipe dream.   :giggle:

Personally I wouldn't touch anything with the 1.4 tsi oil drinker engine. The new version of my 1.8 tsi will be sufficient for me, especially when the KO4 and Porsche brakes are moved across from the Yeti. ;)

You can get a 1.8 TSI 4x4 Elegance in the Czech Republic.

I suspect the home market can get every single combination known to man (or that Škoda produces for some market somewhere).  AND also colour as they can specify about 50 colours whereas we can normally only get about 12 if we are lucky.

Have to say I really like the look of this.

Far batter than all the Octavia3 versions I've seen so far.

I spoke to my dealer a couple of weeks back when test driving a Scout and he suggested October 2014 as a release date for the Mk3.

No idea how accurate or reliable that is though.

Not in a Year's time.

Besides, Yeti man is quite capable of making an Octy Scout plus. ;)

It's a year off... :(  by then I plan to be driving a Tesla.

model S? I've been keeping up to date extensively on these 'proper' electric cars. S class size with seven seats and a 300 mile range. Sub 5 secs to 60. 1800 litres of luggage space. 60 mins of charge in an hour... Yes please!

I sat in two of them at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.  Impressive but the interior is dire.  Yes it has that WAY too big 42" (seemingly!) flat screen TV in the middle of the dash but below that it is as artfully fitted out as a dodgem car.  And don't be fooled by the photos.  It is built in proportion with MASSIVE wheels to make it look small.  It is gargantuan (hence having a seven seat option as shown in my pic 3 below and THREE proper seats across the back seat).  But a beautiful car.  Especially for an American offering.

Two of my photos from that day:  one and two and three.  Yes with no engine it has a frunk.   :giggle:

But back OT:  October 2014?!?!?!?!  Yikes that is way too long to wait.  Grrr.

I wonder what Skoda UK plan to have fill the gap until the new Scout arrives? The new 4x4 Octavia is a bit...restrained.

And wow, that Tesla is massive. A full 10cm longer and wider than a Superb Estate.
