16" 5x100 bbs rx2 splits graphite grey centres with tyres

Featured Replies

Here have my 16" 5x100 bbs rx2 split rims, just been refurbished a week ago, outer dish is silver then inner centre is in graphite grey. They was acid dipped and **** blasted before paint but this led to some pitting marks on the inside of the centres. Cant see until your on your hands and knees looking but would rather be honest. They come with 4 legal tyres with 3/4mm left on them.

Any info message me on here on

What is the width of the wheel?

6.5" they sit fine up front but i run 10mm spacers on the back which i can supply, i have a pic of them on my car if you want to see?

Yeah that might be useful if possible, just weighing up on these or the wider set that is available

sorry mate just measured and there 7.5" being 215 tyres always thought they was 6.5"

Might be interested... any chance you have photos of the other wheels and the tread?

Would you be willing to courier them?

Cheers,

Bean

Ye mate i shall take photos of the others etc and ye i can do for extra where are u based?

Can I just say, at this point, that anyone with 312s will have to do some work on the caliper.

I recently bought the same wheels, some guys swapped some tyres round fitted them and totally neglected to tell me that the leading edge of the caliper was touching the inner rim. Off I drove and, within about 200yds there was the most god awful noise. The calipers have two "knuckles" which need to be worn down a few mm. You have to drive the car aswell as the floating caliper tries to twist round the disc as you brake and therefore leans into the wheel.

Sorry to put a downer on the thread. I think the wheels are great - I am a sucker for Y-styles - and the colour combo is great. You just don't want people buying without realising, and if you don't have the larger discs, you might not realise yourself.

The reason is because the rim is thicker to accomodate the bolts. Therefore he internal diameter is slightly smaller than one-piece wheels.

thanks for the info, strange tho as i bought the wheels off one of my mates who had them on his vrs before i bought them off of him and he had no problems, thats me guessing the vrs brakes are 312mm?

Standards are 288mm, 312s are from  the Leon Cupra/Golf GTI/TT/Octavia vRS. The guy that I bought off had coilovers and FMIC on his Fabia - didn't think for a second that he wouldn't have the larger discs, or that the 312s wouldn't fit under any 16s.

As I said, it is solvable with an angle grinder to just smooth away these two points were the caliper seems to stick out. We were dubious about grinding down but had a good look and couldn't see why there were these two parts built. And what you shave off is very very small.

I've since done a couple thousand with some very hard breaking and not noticed anything. So I don't want to warn people off by any means - I love the wheels and wouldn't go back! GLWS fella

ahh my bad thats why they fit on my mates fabia vrs then ha and no i would rather someone know before buying then being disappointed so thankyou for the info mate, i dont really want to sell them but got a idea for my next set of wheels that i need to fund ha

Also, the Polo versions were 6.5 wide, if these are wider they are from a Golf I think and much rarer.

yeah mate there wider, there a 215 tyre on them

Might not need caliper mods on the wider ones?

The wheel diameter hasn't changed, so I can't see that

Don't be out off by having to grind the caliper down, I did it on my old car, managed to get 30m brakes under 15" wheels, there was about a mm between the wheel and caliper!

Depends which part of caliper is touching the wheel.
