Broken handbrake cable & suspect seized rear caliper a

Featured Replies

Hi there , just need a bit of advise on my new purchase 54 plate octy vrs , I've got it at a amazingly cheap price off my bro , I knew it needed a handbrake cable , couple of tyres and the usual breathers under inlet are weaping , but anyway I ordered a handbrake cable from exhausts unlimited and was told that its listed as a two piece cable , so I had both sent out to me in order to get the correct one , but neither look right ?? So my question is does my vrs has a two or three piece cable and I know I've got to drop the heatshields and exhaust to access it but what kind of a job is it , I will also be checking rear calipers aren't seized as I hear these can play up too ??

Also when I pull the handbrake whilst sitting In the vehicle , I think I can see where the cable should be so I'm assuming its broke at the handbrake end , any help , would be a help , thanks
