Exhaust blowing

Well probably a good 4mm all the way round is gone. But im not sure if that is because it has moved away slightly or just disintegrated lol.

Will see what the garage guys say on tuesday. Fingers crossed they can weld it!

Update: -

Well had a good look. Oh not good news at all. It seems the pipe into the cat converter has sheered/come away right at the connection point.

Took it to the devils workshop (kwikfit) and got a nice quote of £300 ish.

Anyone know if it can be welded? The boys I saw who I thought welded dont (typical). I literally only need it to last like 6 weeks!

I've had a pipe welded exactly there before. As already said, it depends on whether it's broken or rusted away though.

And since it's at a joint and not straight pipe, the "baked bean can and 2 exhaust bandages" trick won't work either.

Well saw my lovely garage guy and he thinks his mate can weld it. So just waiting to hear from the welder as to when he can do it

If there's too much of a gap to weld the two parts together again, the lads might be able to make up a thin sleeve that could be wrapped around and welded either end, I'm sure you'll be able to salvage the exhaust in the meantime 'till you get your new Skoda

Yes it might be that option they go for. Bless them they are so good as soon as I explained Oscar is being part ex'd in about 5/6 weeks they were like 'right quick fix cheap bodge needed then' lol spot on boys! Off to the welder tomorrow morning so please keep fingers crossed for me!
