Number plate FA57 VRS

Featured Replies

So my brother is looking at replacing his Octavia vRS with something non Skoda (shock horror). The number plate will obviously be pointless on anything else other than a vRS so he is looking to sell. Not a huge amount to say about it really, quick picture of it on the car . .

Cheers, I kinda talked him into buying it in the first place lol. If my Fabia was new enough I'd have it like a shot.

Great plate - got spotted and commented on by Skoda UK themselves the other week :)

Nice plate.  Well worth the £750 asking price IMO.

Great plate and deco worth the asking.

I remember the bloke who had it before passing it on on this forum for the cost of the transfer fee.

Excuse the (probably most likely) stupid questions but what's involved with a plate swap? What fee's etc?

£80 DVLA transfer fee, if it's going directly onto another car.

Wouldn't it have to go on a car that is actually a '57 registered vehicle? Otherwise it would be trying to pass the vehicle off as a different age!

A 57 plate can go on an older car but not a newer car.

er, that might be the other way round :D

you can put an older plate on a newer car, yeah, that's it :whew:

Older on a newer car. Not the other way round I think lol

So you can make a car appear older than it is, but not newer.

Exactly. :)

I did!!

I stuck a 53 on an 05!

Yes you can make them look older

Imo the newer plates are not as nice as an old private reg as older plates can run less digits! (Pre 51 reg)

Part ex'd the Octavia and left the plate on it! Never mind, dunno if the dealer will leave the plate on the car.

Nice little bonus for the dealer... that'll be given to a mate or be up for sale on a cherished registration dealers soon...

Daft. But there we go, imagine this happens quite frequently for dealers, from P/Xs.

I would have had the grill off that as well.

Offering the whole car up here might have been an idea too, before folding for a part-exchange value :)

I know I know. He only started talking about a new car Tuesday, I had draft a advert to go on here Thursday and he said let's see what they offer part ex first. I couldn't go with him Sunday so he went with dad and came back with this. I'd have had it if I'd known he was gonna let it go :( I'd not have been able to put it on the Fabia but still.

The grill was ever so slightly peeling but I've got the original chrome one so if anyone's after one PM me.

Cheers

Matt

I'd tell him to go back and see about getting the plate back!! Say in the heat of the moment he forgot to mention about keeping it. He would definitely sell it on here without any problems!!

I second that

Interested in chrome grill. Does it come with the plastic grill part too? Let me know how much you want for it posted?
