Anyone fitted a dashcam

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of fitting a dash cam due to some idiots around my area and also people scratching my car whilst it's parked.

Has anyone fitted one to the citigo, if so where????

Not on the citigo yet. Has yours got the "citisafe" fitted? if not I'd place it just by the rearview mirror. and wire it into the fuse box (search Octavia setion for some ideas).

Yes, behind the rear view mirror so you can't see it when driving.

This is the one in the Yeti.

with the Citisafe feature fitted to the car, i dont think its possible to mount it as BossFox has shown :/

but it can still be fitted to left of the rear view.

I did have Citisafe on my Citigo, it was just mounted a bit lower/over to the left.

Can anyone recommend an actual camera.  I have done web searches and they are all far to expensive, or cheap but with many bad reviews.  Anyone able to point me to one at a reasonable price that s worth having?

What is your budget?

What is your budget?

About £50.  Most I have seen are either £15 or over £100.

Yes, can't give any reccommendations at that price point.

Try one of these:

can be configured as loop record, start stop with ignition or several other ways. Superb picture quality - google Mobius Action Cam and lots of youtube videos and reviews.

Been using mine in the car, on my bike and on the dog. Very pleased with it.

What would you recommend for up to £110?

The mobius is not really a car cam but can do that, there's a really thorough review on YouTube by "techmoan" that might be worth a look for a sub £100 camera.

I have 1 Blackvue 400 and 3 Mobius Action Cam's, there is nothing to choose between the Blackvue and the Mobius regarding video quality, the difference is that the Blackvue  has GPS and collision sensors, not essential IMO.

Check out buying direct from HK, mine arrived in 8 days.

That does seem good value for money.

Hi,

Check Techmoan's YouTube channel there is plenty of cam test. I had ACT20HD not as a dash cam, excellent and cheap about £40. It has auto start/stop perfect in car.

WIthout trawling the whole site, does anyone know any decent dashcam fitting threads here on Briskoda?

Hi, if your looking at spending sensible money. You cannot go wrong with one of these:

I have had one in my Defender for about 6 months now and it runs like clockwork on loop recording with a 32gb card which cost £19.00.

It gives very clear high quality images IMHO.

Search eBay for Dash camera gs1000.

There are many more there some from UK outlets.

I paid £18.40 for mine back then when it was $32 and the exchange rate was different.

For less then £40 all in I'm happy. Think there is a GPS version around but no idea on how that works.

Regards

^^ That looks great. Thanks for posting.

My daughter has an assistance dog called Yaris (he was sponsored by a Toyota dealer) and thought it would be nice to have a video of him at work from a 'dogs-eye' point of view so have been trying to adapt a mount to go on top of his harness. First attempt works but does slip a bit - currently working on version 2.

Its not brilliant as indoors in poor light and had to email it to be able to post to Flikr but gives the idea.

Cool. I like that very much.
