Ps. 335d? Lol

Over nine years 20k ain't too bad to have a fairly unique motor/hobby. I couldn't just save that and blow it on a new car and suffer 13k of depreciation in 4 years. :)

question is

how much of the original engine, gearbox and car are left ?

  • Author

It's not original engine, box, wiring. Original items is mainly bodywork and bits of the inside.

I had a good day today. I missed your car unfortunately. I did see that impressive figure on your print out though. Caught a glimps while I was looking for mine. Think they had two printouts for you, did you run twice?

Any videos of the actual car in action? Any drive bys?

This is me at the pod in April? I think.  Up against SimonK24 in his black fabia.  This is before recent turbo tweaks so wasn't running spot on (not that its running totally spot on now....still more to come)

and inside (different run, but a couple of hundredths faster)

Thats really impressive lol.

Dyno run video from the day.  I am standing by the car during the runs as I am flicking on the nitrous when needed,  My switch is dead so I have wired it to just inject on the flick of the switch. :D

I love the sound of the car when its on song!

Awesome :)

What was your previous figures. Are the vids that are on youtube showing 270ish with or without nos?

The older vids are pre-hybrid'ing my 2260vk so my ballpark power was 275 with a dribble of nitrous - the bottle was nearly empty on the run I did in 2010.  It's at full pressure for the recent runs though.

Would love to go for a spin in this :)

I offered a passenger seat at Castle Combe, but that's been snapped up already.

Nice.

Is the red line without NOS, so the benefit mainly at the top end?

Yes

I wasn't flicking on the nitrous until about 2500-2700 rpm once I was happy boost was building nicely.  It's pointless injecting it whilst the turbo is just beginning to wind up. :)

Cool, any plans fit an automatic injector that comes in as the RPM builds?

Ultimately I need to replace the boost switch as it was a good setup which meant it just started injecting at 1.5 bar of boost, and cut out below that level.  Meant I was never injecting at the wrong time, just on full throttle / high boost.

Which the final mapping done do you think 300 is attainable wiithout nos?

i do hope to this flying past me along the m5 some day.... thats some effort making that much power :)
