Epson Printer dead?

Featured Replies

A friend has an old Epson 760 printer. It stopped printing and the warning light for replacing the black cartridge came on. Last time he noticed the status monitor it showed some black ink remaining but the on screen status monitor for both black and colour is now greyed out. He replaced the black cartridge but it still shows an empty cartridge light. The printer cartridges are not chipped so that can't be the problem. I've reinstalled the printer driver etc. but no good. I think the printer's failed but I'd be grateful for comments.

My experience with Epson printers :thumbdwn: .... same thing happened to me, but with a different version printer.... if your cartridges are not chipped then it must be the actual printer itself ... try taking it to a pc shop and ask for an opinion or get him to check out epsons site . http://esupport.epson-europe.com/SupportHome.aspx?lng=en-GB

For a 760, I wouldn't even bother with the cost of taking it to a repair shop - just get a new one, as it'll probably cost less than the repair job and be better anyway.

You're right - it's now in the bin! If you know someone who wants a load of new cartridges for a 760 .......
