Astra GTC

Featured Replies

Out walking the dog the over night, I saw a Vauxhall Astra GTC parked up outside a house in a nearby road.

What an ugly F***er!!! Looked all out of proportion!

I can't tell the difference between these and the pug ugly vw scirocco at a distance

Hyundai Velostar similarly 'visually challenging'.

Or "Humphed up at the back like a he ferret", as Grandad would say.

Overtook one earlier on, i had seen the Yellow car in the distance and knew it was not a Clio RS 200 Turbo but some other

vehicle that had fallen through all the branches of the ugly tree.

The dark line around the lower rear panel is a strange look.

Looking at the picture off google image it does not seem as bad as it did in the flesh, that was horrible.

Very few mainstream cars from the last few years look 'nice'. Most are passable, but I don't think I really like any of them. I like the DS3 though. My favourite maybe the current Z4, but is that really mainstream?

The GTC is an abomination though!

I sort of like it... Have a bit of a soft spot for it :(. Please don't hate me :(.

Wouldn't choose it over a vRS though :P

Citroen have been bringing out some really nice looking cars the last few years. Shame they're still made of brie and well fired sheep.

I like the current Mercs now too. Not that keen on much else.

VAGs are all inoffensive, but not very interesting.

Ford, ok, better than they were.

Mazda were doing ok then they brought out that new CX5. Not nice. Used to be nice, now not nice.

Seems a few makes are going for the rounded back end in their hatches now (either that or a 'shooting brake' shape)

Do you think it's the general shape that's the problem or purely the execution of it by different makes?

Personally I'd go with the latter, as the Brera sports a curved behind, and that is (IMO) a damn fine looking car..

(Perhaps that is what Vauxhall were trying (unsuccessfully) to emulate.)
