Purchasing a new/ old turbo.

Featured Replies

Hi

Just following up from my last post re blown turbo on fabia VRS.

I was just wondering what the general thoughts were on second hand turbos i.e. off of fleabay

Also are there any recommendations for places to get recon turbos.

Ive so far been quoted £750 for a new one.

Cheers

Would this be a question about a Mk1 Turbo rather than for a Mk2 , so meant for the Mk1 Forum.?

Yep

Sorry

Can the Mk2 turbos be rebuilt?

Interesting to see just how many iterations of the 1.4tsi get the same turbo as the vRS down to some versions with fairly low level of tune.

"Should Fit", but it is for the BLG, up to Mk 5 Golf GT, Jetta, Golf Plus, Touran, so could fit a variety of engines,

Codes are like BLG, BMY, CAXC, & from 90 kw - 125 kw.

the 1.4 TSi in the Twincharger is 132 KW & Engine CAVE & CTHE,

so not that turbo on Ebay for them.

says it will fit on the compatibility table.... thats just the first one I came up with, have found loads, since I heard of the demise of the vRS and seriously have been considering keeping mine 5 years / 100,000 miles....

Yes,

just pointing out to not always trust Compatibility Tables,

the Seller says "Should Fit a variation of VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat etc .....refer to parts No.  etc..",

but it is not of use for all those engines listed on the Table.
