Bluetooth audio text works on the 510 stereo on iPhone 5

Featured Replies

I do not understand why I can't see my text like this. Is it the Bolero that is problem as the 510 from a friends golf is perfect like this?

Does 510 fit Skoda octavia 2010

It could be related to either firmware version on your rcd510 or maybe depending on how the iphone 5 is connected,if its any help in my mk5 golf iv had a premium phone kit fitted to my rns510 also iv updated the firmware to 3810 & maps to v9 7918 & im using a iphone 5 & mines fully working.

I have the bolero this is a friends 510. How do you update firmware. Through vcds?

I thought the Bolero was a 510?

Me too but was not 100%.

I have seen on the site that there is firmware updates for the Bolero. Mine is an F model with 53 and there is a 54 firmware from dealers. This is mainly to do with slow access of the sd cards. But could this affect bluetooth text also does anyone know please?

How did you update your firmware please? I have vcds.

Well the F struggles to download the phone book and garbles text on the screen according to posts on this forum. It is conceivable that the BT text could be missing on this early Bolero too. What happens if you pair a different phone? E.G an Android? Do any phones you pair work as expected?

Not tried another phone. Sounds far too sensible ;)

My phone book is perfect and the calls and that side of bluetooth is perfect. Grrr.

Will try my neighbour.

Anyone have A G Bolero with bluetooth text working on an iphone 5 please?

Not sure if there is a G or not. Mine is an M. Again, this is info I have harvested from this site:

F = original, Blaupunkt manufactured Bolero

M = updated, Delphi manufactured Bolero (circa 2011)

I don't yet have a bluetooth module installed to test for you unfortunately. But I'm sure someone will.

Incidentally, what options (buttons) do you see on the bottom of the screen whilst it says Bluetooth Audio (if any) and what do they do?

No option buttons just graphics greyed out for play etc and i guess an area for the options. I am thinking of upgrading to the columbus as I dont have sat nav.

Bluetooth options also depend on the module under driver's seat. They all have different abilities. Mine for example is 9wZ (3C8035730A) and it plays phone calls in two speakers but audio streaming is right speaker mono.

mine is 3C8 035 730 C and the phone side brilliant comes out of all speakers. I think it could be as its the older Bolero

So, to clarify, the audio from the phone music player is coming through your speakers and you can select and skip tracks via the iphone but not via the Bolero. Difficult to know where the module comes into play and where the Bolero is in charge!

Exactly :) and :(

  • 2 weeks later...

Upgraded to a new Columbus unit all perfect now and much better than the bolero
