Heated Seats

Featured Replies

I have an SE with the black leathers. I'm just wondering what's needed to get them to be heated. Ideally I'd like the OEM set up with the OEM buttons located in the blanks above the radio.

Is it possible to fit this to my car?

What bits do I need?

And what car do I need the bits from? Elegance?

Ta.

Don't bother, they aren't worth the hassle. They do feel nice for a few minutes on a cold winters morning but I hardly ever use mine.

from what i've seen else where you'll need to find a top spec elegance which has heated seats, deconstruct the seats to get the heating elements, deconstruct the dash to get the buttons and wiring, take up the carpet to get the wiring loom that goes to the seat, and then from memory make some chagnes to the fuse box to wire the whole lot in.

Or you could do what my mum does with her SE in winter and leave a blanket on the seat ;)

Although I love my heated seats in the winter, I have to agree it seems like a lot of hassle, but anything is possible if you have the time, money and patience ;)

Had anyone else thought they'd wet themselves when they used their heated seats for the first time like I did :wonder: :D

With leather seats, I'd completely disagree.

They make the interior so much nicer, especially in winter when it takes ages to get any heat out of the vents.

So glad I got mine fitted :)

:D The first Fabia I went out in my mate put the heated seats on without telling me, felt like I'd pee'd myself.

Personally I dont think they do all that much, fabric or not my arse warms the seats up within seconds, unless you could remotely turn them on before you get in lol. That said, if it wasnt much work or cost I'd still fit them.

There's something wrong if you're not getting hot air within 2-3 minutes. There is a ceramic plate heater in the air vent feed (certainly on the facelift cars) for that very purpose because the Diesel engine does take a bit longer to warm through.

Mine is one of the very early cars so doesn't have this.

When it's -10 and the steering wheel is too cold to touch, heated seats were well worth the effort fitting

I have facelift and am unaware of heat before car warms up am I suppose to have heat before I get engine temperature needle moving ?
