Octavia VRS with

Featured Replies

Bought mine for 4.5k with 76,000 miles 6 months ago.Not been without its faults but just about there with it now:-)

The fact you are restricting your search to diesels is why there is so little choice for this price.  Given that diesels are only cost-effective if you do lots of miles, you should not be surprised that they are all high-milers.

I may potentially being doing an increased number of miles, so was therefore looking for an aesthetic and enjoyable drive along with reasonable economy.

You can have my 2006 vrs tfsi 72k revo stage 1 for £5k :-)

Link Glynn ?

I was only joking but ill put some pics up if your interested

Any estates, petrol or diesel in that price bracket that anybody's seen?

Got a work mate potentially in the market - and the body style is more important than the fuel type :)

you will only find a derv with high miles for that money. You have a huge advantage of being oop north too as cars are much cheaper up there.

There are alternatives such as the Audi A4 with the PD140, the A3 with the same engine, Leon FR, Leon with the pd140 and also the golf.

You can get one of the above cars within your budget, you might have to look outside of the "performance model" bracket

I found one with 170k on it for £4K. I have now (within 4 months) spent the difference between that and the one I was mulling over that only had 100k on it that was £7K.

Choose it wisely. Drive it carefully.

Don't underestimate any odd noises you can hear. Maybe try asking someone local to you if you can try theirs out to get a feel for what's normal and what isn't when you drive it.

Sent using my Breville Sandwich Toaster...

the 1.8 Tsi  is a cheap car at the moment as everyone wants a troublesome oil burner

.Add a remap and its  pushing over 200 BHP ....A lamb in wolfs clothing!

There is me and my little boy.

Was considering resale value in a couple of years also, amongst other things

Do you need a diesel? if not for 5k id be looking at a petrol octavia vrs (lot of car for the money) if it has to be a diesel then you will get a better fabia vrs for 5k than a octavia diesel vrs, depends what you want from a car,you cant really compare a fabia to a octavia.

I'll be looking for £5k for mine (maybe a bit over) after xmas. 06, 85k currently, FSH, Columbus, AP coilovers, and a few other sensible mods...
