Yorkshire Big Breakfast at Malton

Featured Replies

The Autumn Big Breakfast Meet at Malton is on Sunday, October 13th this year. It's a great chance to see a wide variety of cars, and quite a few of us turn up. We tried for group parking at Easter, but unless you get there early (before 8:30) that's next to impossible!

Here are the details from the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/566919490033098/

"It is that time of year again, the last big run out of the year, the Yorkshire Big Breakfast at Specialist Cars of Malton.

Sunday, October 13th 2013, will see thousands of drivers meet at Malton from 8.30am for a bacon sandwich and a chance to look at some of the finest metal in the North of England.

Now in its 6th year the Yorkshire Big Breakfast has grown to become one of the North's premier multi-marque car events with every kind of sports and classic car in attendance. We've had over 3000 people attend the last events and this promises to be even bigger.

As always everyone is welcome, no matter what you drive (or ride, motorbikes are of course welcome), please pass this invite on to your car clubs, owners clubs, friends and colleagues, it is the mix of makes and models that makes this event so exciting.

As you can imagine after the Easter YBB we'll have a hefty police presence to ensure the event remains a fun, safe and enjoyable family day out. We hope everyone will help us to keep the continued running of the Yorkshire Big Breakfast viable by driving sensibly and enjoying themselves responsibly.

We're working closely with North Yorkshire Police and implementing a professionally managed traffic management plan so please follow the directions of our marshalls. Once again the one way system will be in place, entering at the Malton side of the business park and leaving at the A64 side.

See you then!"

I'd love to come, but may have my 2 kids that weekend, is it ok to bring them? Can you recommend anywhere to stay overnite if I come down on the sat? Thanks

I think I will be attending this in ..

Ah just posted about this in the Yorkshire and North East sections!

I'm going with a few people from Scarborough.  This was our last convoy in October which was an eclectic mix to say the least.

I really enjoy this meet and have been going for a few years now. It's well worth the effort as there's something for everyone to see.

FE71, as for stopping over, you might be best staying in York the night before and then heading down the A64 on the day.  Another option is stopping in Scarborough, but you've come past Malton on the way and then have to retrace your steps to get to Malton.  Just a thought.

Some good pics there.  Fingers crossed that the turnout is just as good this time.

I would like to go to this but it sounds like it will be a nightmare trying to find somewhere to park as it always seems insanely busy.

Might not be so bad if you get there early. I plan to get there before 8 so hopefully there'll be a decent amount of spaces.

The whole of the estate is available for parking, so you should find somewhere. There are still people arriving & parking after 10am.

might come to this

I will be there - really enjoyed it last time

There's a few of us going from Scarborough again.  It'll be p***ing it down looking at the weather, but the bacon sandwiches will make up for it.

Great day. Crap weather. The nice metal made up for it. That Lambo was bloody sexy. But part of me thought it was a kit car.

Yeah, I saw it arrive.  It went into the lower car park and then came out again to park elsewhere, ever so slightly grounding out on the apex

It was a good turnout despite the weather.

I missed it!

I normally go as it's not far.

Oh well... will look out for the next one.

Phil

Decided not to go as weather was a bit grim and didn't fancy standing out in the rain - maybe next time

I went along, but got there for 11 which was far too late. Shame on the weather too.

I did see a few Skodas though. A black Mk1 Fab, black Mk2 Fab and as he was leaving a blue Octy. Anyone here own them?

I did talk to the owner of that big V8 Chevy truck thing as he was leaving and he mentioned that this year they had a lot more of boy racers/chavs there than previous years, but I guess the weather put the supercar drivers off.

The turnout wasn't as big as the last few I've been to, so I presume lots of others felt the same way. This time people had started leaving before 10am - normally it's gone 11:30 before the exodus starts. Hopefully we'll get better weather for the next one at Easter.

On the plus side the bacon butties were as good as usual

Anyone get any good snaps ?

We left just after you - the Yeti is briefly visible pulling out of the car park at 15:40 and a couple of cars behind the white Vauxhall with the horse's head.

I had seen the Yeti parked up earlier on, the colour looks nicer in the metal than on photos.  As for the horse's head, I had to look twice when I first watched the footage. :D

Saw two Blue Octys, mine and another! I left about 11ish, so may have been me. I had the black alloys, other was silver alloys.
