Anyone done it? What go you think

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about this in the Ford scene, think it cleans it that well it removes all the gunk and then causes you problems as some of the gunk was sealing stuff. Don't quote me 100% on that but I'm sure that's what alot of people have said

From what I understand it's not a cleaning product per-se, but an "ultra refined fuel" in either petrol or diesel.  So it works on the principle of using a more refined version of the same product as a solvent - e.g. using petrol to clean off oily gunk.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't give an actual opinion!  If I had a problem that looked like a thorough cleaning would solve I'd have no qualms about using it.

 

Very much like switching to a high detergent fully synthetic oil from a mineral one, if there's a situation where it exposes something that's faulty and needs fixing it's not causing a problem just revealing it, the problem was there in the first place and always needed fixing if you wanted your car to run right.

 

However, in my opinion, I think there's less risk and more to be gained in the case of the fuel system than the oil system.

Of course they can't guarantee that, the truth is, with diesel engines carbon deposits are a given and unit injectors don't clog due to the incredible pressure they run so it looks to be of limited use on a VRS. A petrol engine is a whole different matter on the other hand, I might get mine done and report back.

Nobody would guarantee anything like that though, if you asked a Skoda dealership to guarantee that after a service your car wouldn't leave with any problems they'd just laugh.  It's a fuel system clean, it isn't worth it to them to give any guarantee on a car that's otherwise unknown to them - "It's running rough now, it was fine when I brought it in, honest..."

 

Unit injectors are less prone to clogging for sure, I wouldn't go as far as saying they don't clog.  Burnt on deposits can still easily alter the spray pattern over time but there's other things to clean too like the turbo impeller, head, manifolds, EGR (if it isn't already in a box in your garage :angel: ).

With diesels it's the same theory (but a much more controlled application) as sticking in some JASO FC or FD grade 2 stroke oil, it's more refined and cleaner burning with better lubrication than the ULS diesels.  As such it'll do a bit of cleaning on it's way through and often the engine will run noticeably smoother after using it.

 

I do agree you've probably got more to gain on a petrol car compared to a PD engined one though.
