Leon Cupra R

Featured Replies

The dosey bint that sits opposite me in the office is jabbering on about getting a Leon Cupra R. Now she reckons in standard form it'll be very much faster than my remapped Octy - is this the case?

I doubt she'll actually get one as she does ted to talk a lot of BS.

what version is it? 210bhp or 225bhp?

as for much faster? i doubt it, power outputs will be similar. gearbox is a 6speed but really would imagine the would be similar pace wise

get it remapped i heard the cupra R can see 275 very easily after a remap

then you will be stuffed

even if its the 210 or 225 there wont be much init

Joel

it'll be quicker, better handeling, better brakes, better suspension, more power(maybe), 6 speed box etc

the standard 225bhp cupra r will be as near damit the same speed as ur octy, but as said above it will handle and brake better

Just suggested the Ibiza - she said "i may as well keep my Nova GTE if I'm gonna have one of those"

lol a mk3 ibiza cupra is faster than a standard octy vRS

exactly, er 100bhp Vs 180bhp with easy potential for about 220bhp. silly cow

and it would actually handle

wow, its a leon cupra r she was talking about ;)

A Leon Cupra R? The old girl's going up in the world ;)

Chris

I know someone ;) who had a little 'tussle' with a Cupra R in their jabba'd Octy vRS running 229.8 JBHP (Jabba BHP  ). They think there is VERY little in it, assuming the Cupra was standard (04 plate), but the Cupra R seemed to be moving away very, very slightly, which they'd attribute to maybe better torque due to the larger turbo and intercooling the Coop has

Badge snobbery on a Skoda site .... what next!

Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction, and although I don't speak Czech, Skoda is supposed to mean 'Pity' or 'Damage' in the Czech language!!!

It's a good thing this isn't widely known YET, as the jokes will NEVER stop  .

Rich

P.S. Don't believe me, then do a google for 'skoda pity' or just look here ;) .

I sold my Leon Cupra to buy a vRS Octy....both have the 180bhp power unit....However the Leon was slower!!!!......The six speed gear box in the Leon means the gear ratios are different to the 5 speed of the Octy...therefore better performance.

Cupra R is a good car but like many high performance cars most cheaper ones...around 10K are old dogs. Good ones are 12K up.

Paul:)
