Collected new Monte Carlo yesterday - went like a dream - satnav, maxidot all wonderful!

  • 1 month later...

I'm picking up my Monte Carlo Tech on Thursday, I'm well chuffed it's going to have a Maxidot!!

Does anyone know what colour the back lighting colour is on the dials?? I test drove a standard Monte Carlo and the back lighting was green.

The dials are white to match the Maxidot display but the buttons on the centre console are still green.

They do look good, much better than the dials without Maxidot like in lower spec cars.

I've changed the interior bulbs for LED ones which match the Maxidot display, they give off a nice white light and look far better than the standard bulbs and they're much brighter as well.

Cool, the green back lighting on the dials wasn't too bad and I've seen worse to be honest, but I'm much, much happier that they'll be white.

Where the interior bulbs in the centre console easy to get to and fit? Not sure want I to be pulling stuff to bits unless its relatively easy to do with it being brand new car (and the first brand new car I've ever bought!!!!).

It's not the console lights but the actual interior courtesy lights that come on when the doors open.

I wouldn't know where to start replacing the actual switch and dash bulbs.

Ah right, yeah I wouldn't know where to start either haha.

Courtesy bulbs are easy enough to change so will probably do the same if it looks nicer and more closely matches the Maxidot display so thanks for the advice.

We picked up our tsi105 tech last week.

And yes it has Maxidot

Really easy to use and it looks good alongside the white dials.

I know this is not related to the thread but could someone reassure me fuel consumption will improve, in all fairness we only do short journeys but it seems to drink fuel the Maxidot told me for 30 quid of fuel I would get 190 miles ? Thoughts please

I average between 40-45 mpg and that's with a 16 mile round trip to work.

Put about £20 worth of fuel in a week.

Picked up my new Monte tonight, love the Maxidot display. Only done about 12 mile but mpg was 32.3 so cant really gauge mine a great deal at the moment. I'm assuming that will improve once I start doing normal weekly trips to work etc!!

This was mine from picking up from the dealers went manchester to castleford and back. Trip was set to 000 now getting mid 40s not got above 52 on the motorway as yet still trying. Now done 3900 miles

Did my first full run to work today and was averaging around 45/46, I've got a nice mix of urban and motorway so I'm hoping to see a nice improvement on mpg over my last car which would average around 31.
