Duel m f or single m f conversion PLS HELP

Featured Replies

Please advise me on whether to buy a decent Sachs 4 piece smf clutch kit which I'm assuming is a fairly good replacement or put an original duel mass flywheel and clutch kit back in my car very slightly vibrates at about 1500 -2000 rpm but I've heard so many bad stories about vibration from a smf and that if it has a dmf then it should be replaced with one I've heard about the g60 flywheel and GTI clutch are they gonna cause vibrations ??? Plus if g60 flywheel is the way forward how do I order one as most of the car part companies can't help me as I'm asking for parts that don't match my reg so I'm worried ill end up with the wrong g60 kit , someone please help me !!! Dmf or smf or g60 it's a 2004 octy vrs stage 1 remap k and n filter apart from that its standard , any help would be a help !!

It depends on what your future plans are for the car as far as modifying goes!

Even if you go stage 2 you'll struggle to justify spending big money on a Sachs clutch kit when the ecs stage 1 clutch kit will be more than capable!

There are plenty of big power (400bhp+) cars using dual mass flywheels....

My smf and clutch kit sounds a bit like a Ducati dry clutch....it's not that bad though!

Google is your friend

VR6 Clutch from here http://www.vwspares.co.uk/g3clutch.php bottom one at 110 quid

G60/GTi flywheel 028105269BX about 160 quid with surcharge you have to pay

Flywheel bolts N90206103 x 6 about 3 quid

Clutch bolts N10101001 x 6 about 3 quid

Well worth doing and makes the clutch alot lighter and more bearable in traffic and its stronger to boot

Rtech recommend replacing with OEM DMF. When I remapped my Octy Vrs, my cutch was slipping, and they recommended changing to a DMF.

I replaced my DMF ect just before I had my Rtech stage 2 and I'm more than happy with it, I find I have a lot more confidence when pulling off from a stand still if it be aggressively or normally!
