18.4meg lol you could let use know hehe

Warning - seems to be a big file ;)

Hmm that wouldnt hurt that much. More concerned about the absolutely terrible driving displayed myself.

Swerving left to right, forcing lorry & car out of the way, pretty much as well.

Blue flames

this is why broadband 2 meg was invented! :)

took less than 5 mins on my 512 broadband :P

nearly as good a driving display as have seen from some owners on briskoda days....

at least in the video they are in a race....

nice blue flames......

I think you have it bang on there!

I have never been on a Briskoda day - but other meets with other forums always produce this sort of result. It is simply the way petrol heads drive when they are in a group together.

Try driving to Le Mans - if you're not prepared to aprtake in a bit of jostling then you will be left very far behind.

IMO - convoys like Gumball (and Le Mans, and meets) are made up of people who at least sort of know each other. it becomes very apparent, very quickly, who you can trust and who you can run like that with.

Sure the other traffic is an issue - but its like skiing - you just need to keep your wits about you and assume that the slower traffic will cut in front or do something unexpected.

Its defensive driving x100 - with some bravado and testosterone throne in,a nd sure it can get dangerous, and it isnt fair on innocent by standards, but to hear condemnation of it on a car forum where that sort of driving would surely be immediately apparent at any sort of meet strikes me a slightly hypocritical

No offence intended of course :)

Dunno about hypocritical ;) - I enjoy driving fast if I can, don't get me wrong. But I will not cut people up, force them off the road near-enough, or tailgate to the extent where the car in front cant see my headlights any longer.

That is just plain dangerous. This is the UK, not Spain or Italy, where it's quite 'normal' to drive on the hardshoulder to get past a queue to turn off.

As for 'assume that the slower traffic will cut in front' - is that why that slower traffic is being forced out of the way ?? You are surely joking.

Also not intending to offend anyone, but basically it's the difference between say an advanced driving-skilled police officer and someone who just goes out and uses the power of the vehicle. Yes the latter will probably keep up, might even go faster than the police officer, but (hopefully) the police officer will use both skill and judgement to keep the risk down to other road users. That's the fundamental difference.

Either way - hope I never see this near me as I would remember the plates and report it to the police. And yes, I have done that in the past.

Can't say the driving was particularly shocking, a Porsche GT went to overtake in the wrong lane couldn't get through so changed lanes again and waited til the driver pulled over.

See that sort of stuff every day performed by Transits and Vectras :D

That 330d doesn't do too bad keeping up does it!

That 330d doesn't do too bad keeping up does it!

but isnt a fabia quicker than a 330d.... so does this mean it could just about keep upwith a carrera?

Quite honestly I've seen much worse driving on Italian Autostradas than on that video. The GT doesn't "swerve", he changes lane and then changes back. He certainly doesn't force a truck out of the way, since the truck is already manoeuvring back into it's correct lane before the GT moves across, and you could argue that the Bravo is simply doing the same.

Yeah, he shouldn't tailgate, I agree, but I've seen much worse driving - hell, on occasion over here, let alone in Italy.

Nice Guy Mike

As per my prev post - Italy is definitely worse :D

As for Furby keeping up - it might, but then most cars would. Remember a Furby can keep up very nicely, it's when the petrol'd turbos use their revs it will loose out (BIG) as each gear change costs time, and the petrol will just keep pulling.

In the right gear the Furby is pretty fast, but it will run out of rev range pretty fast too, so it's all over quickly

Wouldnt stop me from having a go when appropriate ;)

?

The video was taken in Italy, that's why I mentioned it...

That video was carp.

Dave.

Wow - that quote worries me.

When did civilians start policing the roads?

And I have just done a straw poll amoungst a handfull of police who are good friends of mine.

They would be very pleasant and concerned on the phone, then hang up and go and have a cup of coffee.

What do you expect them to do? trawl through CCTV? Take your word for it? Rush out onto the road and chase the perpetrators?

I only hope you are not calling 999 to report this sort of driving. As it is, I think you are massively wasting police time.

Just IMO of course.

Well it is a pleasure to waste police time if it means only 1/100 they do something about it. And no, calling 999 would be stupid.

It's the same with burglarly, breaking into cars, and destructive behaviour. No-one gives a flying f*ck about it. You can report it and nothing gets done. Yeah that's just great.

Suppose I should fit a camera and send things to the BBC or similar to shame people into action then?

Glad to see the police has their priorities straight and spends their time collecting money rather than policing the road for dangerous driving... Just IMHO ;)

Either way, I'm used to the kind of zero-response when reporting crime taking place. If you never tax or insure a car you can drive it for months as well. If on the other hand you are a more regular paying member of the public you'll get slapped with warnings and fines if you are unable to get to the post-office in time due to being abroad. Why am I not surprised..

Took less than 1 minute on my 2mb :D
