Help, mk1 Octavia. The wipers work brilliant but the resting position it quite high, when I turn them on they wipe up - down - all the way to the bottom of the screen and then come back up and rest quite high (will include PIC) can I adjust the motor some how?

I think that means that someone has disconnected the motor from the linkage and then re-assembled with the linkage not in the correct position.

 

You will need to remove the wiper arms, scuttle panel and then remove the linkage.  It is held in with 3 torx screws.

 

Photograph it (pictures are always a good, and then remove the motor for the linkage, then for want of a better word, "flatten" the linkage, and re-attach the motor.

 

Put linkage back into car (don't attach the arms), and try it - you should see the spindles and rotate anti-clockwise and then clockwise (not clockwise for a fraction first).  If all seems good, you are good to go.
