Worth waiting for.

Featured Replies

I have waited, and waited, and... and then one day she finally became a part of my life!

Love at first sight!!  :)

If I had been a bit more brave I had gone for the 18'' wheels, but 17'' works fine for me.

Very nice - and I imagine (we're not allowed them in the UK) quick too with a 1.8 TSI. :-)

Thanks!

Yes, as far as I know, it's same number of hp as the previous vRS. But I'll go easy on her... in the beginning!

I could have managed without the rear wiper though, which makes it look less "sporty" IMO,  but then again... it's not a sport car so why imagine it..  :D

The rear wiper was mandatory in Sweden when I ordered the car, but now when I picked it up I heard that it has become an option!

Well, maybe future buyers can benefit from my efforts of getting rid of it, even if I didn't... *haha*

But I'm very happy they choose to import the 1.8TSI... so in that perspective, I can live with the wiper!

Looks good and the 17" five spoke alloys suit the car better imo than the multi spoke we get standard on Eleg in UK, I also like the little boot spoiler too and you will have a nice pair of surprises if you look under the rear bumper!

Congrats.. :) I know the feeling of love at first site, I got mine on Wednesday, Just love the engine.. :)

btw. 1 or 2 tailpipes on the fwd?

Yup! :-)

Thanks guys! I know this colour is common in UK, not sure how it will be in Sweden, but I don't care if some consider it "too common" because

I really REALLY like its shine and depth! :)

And the engine... runs like a dream! (vRS people don't mock me! Because I'm totally satisfied with this one...  ;))

I feel a bit like an idiot now, and maybe I am when it comes to this, because I haven't even looked under the car yet...

Nice colour.... it's popular for a reason.... because it's the best colour which is why Skoda made it available on all models on the mkIII. can't see them doing the same with rally green though! Enjoy your new car.

Really looks nice in the pic.....enjoy it...

Thanks all for all the nice words!!  :)

Makes me feel I made the "right" choice of colour!

Well, "right" for me... therefore quotation marks since it's individual ofc,  but it IS a truly lovely blue colour!!

I'm away from my love for a few weeks now. When I get back, I will take it for a long ride. (I almost typed "her" here  , but it gave

me too many "Christine vibes" (Steven King... you know?  :nerd: ) and besides, my beauty is a good car!   )

I can even do it relaxed now since I've already got the first pebble hitting the wind shield.  :swear:  Not exactly at the

center of the view, but very close. Better laugh than cry, so I did... laugh! I managed to drive it for 50km (30miles?)

before it happened... but it had happend some other day anyway.

When back, I will check if I have any pipes under it!  ;)

(and, yes, I AM addicted to Emoticons  :giggle: )

Nice! I take it you got the sports suspension as it's looking very, very classy!

Yes, thanks! I am glad I was a bit "brave" for once in my life... *haha*

I had read tests where they "complained" about the rear "jumping" around on bad roads and I was very nervous

for a while that I had done something stupid going for sports suspension. Probably those tests were with the torsion

suspension, whereas they put the mulitilink arm on the 1.8TSI, or them making the tests were just very sensitive,

but I can't complain on comfort with this.

Knowing what I know today, as oposed to back in May when ordering, I would have selected 18'' too!

But, 17'' looks better than my old 16'' at least, and I'm getting older (aren't we all...? ^^) and appreciate comfort too

so I have now convinced myself that 17'' is a good compromise!!  :)

I was wondering that myself as I currently drive a Passat B5 which has a torsion beam, sports suspension but with 16" alloys. I'll be taking a VRS out for a test drive soon to see how I'd fare with the 18s on that kind of setup and am hoping I like it!

If not - I reckon I'll be going for the same setup as yourself! Any interior shots? :)

Ohh also..silly question..but is it comfortable or bumpy?

I would say that it doesn't strike me as "bumpy", rather on the contrary. But all that is difficult to say because what I find "comfortable" you may find "bumpy"...

Your question is not silly, not to me since I was hesitating for weeks, and even changed my mind back-and-forth after it was too late (unless I would have liked

to end up at the bottom of the building queue again!! haha)

I can upload interior shots if you wish :-), but it has to be later (much later) since I'm away from my beauty (both of them, gf and car!!) for a few weeks.

I am far from any expert on this but what makes the whole difference as far as I have been able to find out is the multilink arm. But now someone else will most

likely object!

Oh, should add I added the option of changing drive mode, but as been pointed out before in other places, that won't change any settings of the suspension (as it does on my gf's GTI) but only engine and AC and such.

...and personally, after looking at my car, I would NOT go back to 16'' on it. (I probably ordered winter tires on 16'', but can't remember now, but that's a different story...)
