Octavia Mk1 90bhp ALH engine performance improvement

Featured Replies

Hello all im kind of new here and would appreciate any help/advice.

I have had my Octavia for a year now and although it is a great car and economical id like a few more horses.

Im not looking for massive power just a little more, since my partner has just got a golf 130 tdi and it drives much better.

How could i do this without spending massive amounts of money and without changing too much?

I was told taking the N75 valve from a higher BHP car will improve performace ?

Can i simply take the valve from a golf 115 or 130 ? or similar without having to get a remap etc ?

Totally different engines, your is an injection pump the others are pd.

You can the injectors and there other options but the cost will add up. Look up some threads by Lofty, he modded his old ALH.

so am i right in thinking that mine uses direct injection from the pump to each of the cylinders, whereas the my partners golf is more of a commonrail set up ?

Thanks for the reply Trundlenut

Sort of, PD is different from CR though.
