Over the Top Quiltie Boot Liners

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a boot liner (floor, seat back and sides) for my Elegance and as it is going to be on show, because I never have the shelf in, it needs to look half decent. I've looked at products by Hatchbag, Boot Buddy and Titan but none of them make it easy to get to the spare wheel and the storage either side of it.

As it comes in four pieces the Over The Top quiltie looks like it could do the job but it is pricey. Has anyone had any experience of this make either in their Yeti or another car and if so did they think it was worth the premium price? Was it a good fit, did it last well etc. (I must admit part of the appeal for me is it can be ordered in Tweed Green that could tone nicely with my Regency Green paintwork.

How much?

£259 for the raised floor, £319 for the lowered!!!

No, £319 for either option. (Because they class the Yeti as a 4x4 the price is higher than for an Octavia (£295), even though there are going to be plenty of Yeti's, maybe a majority?, that aren't 4x4.).

It is a quite lot of cash (hence asking if anyone else had experience of the product) but I plan to keep the Yeti for at least five years so it's only around a pound a week - a half a pint of decent beer and it is the only full liner that I've seen that should make accessing the spare wheel and storage relatively easy. And think how comfy my old dog is going to be! At the end of the day if all our car-related decisions were based on price no-one would be ordering the SE/SE+/Elegance models let alone upgraded sound systems, built in sat-nav or even metallic paint.

Now back to the main question - has anybody actually had one before I splash out?

Finally bought and fitted the Over-The-Top boot liner and posting a picture in case anyone else has been thinking about one.

So far the pros are it is very smart, fits well and because it is in four pieces joined by velcro retains easy access to the side pockets and spare wheel when necessary. Because the sides are velcroed to the seat back panel for the tip run they can be quickly separated to give a longer floor mat covering the extended cargo area; the bumper protector is also detachable so can be used to give further protection behind the rolled up seats. When it first arrived the side panels didn't seem long enough but these were returned and new panels made quickly and without fuss, so customer service good.

The cons are that the original delivery estimate of 3-5 weeks from order actually was 6-7 weeks (and confused by "waiting despatch" on the web-site meaning *haven't made them yet"!) and yes, as Graham observed, not the cheapest of boot liner option but there again the Yeti wasn't the cheapest of the cars I looked at - just the best!!.

The material is quilted and waterproof, so should work with the dogs, but it wouldn't be waterproof at the joins (unlike liners such as Hatchbag) so soething to be aware of for anyone thinking of giving them very heavy use.

I had the custom fit Hatchbag in my last Yeti (and let it go with the car as did not think I would be having another one). Very well made and fitted like a glove. I had the spare wheel option as well, but the liner just rolls up as the floor piece is separate to the side pieces, so access not an issue.

It does look really good and certainly a nice comfy one for a dog! I have in the past had a material one and found the problem was that the Velcro didn't always hold the side pieces up and eventually I cut the sides off.

For this reason I decided to go with the Boot Buddy this time- it is a pain getting to the spare wheel compartment but as I have a tail gate guard too, it would be a pain anyway as that has to come out. Hopefully the Velcro works better on the Quiltie.

So far  I am very pleased with BB, I have their soft rubber mat and bumper protector which rolls down to stop the dogs scratching it as they jump in.
