Cube to pick up

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm not great on computers so have no idea how to search e.t.c so I'm looking for help,

How much work is involved in changing a felicia cube van to a pick-up? What parts are needed and a rough cost?

Hi and welcome to Briskoda,

The conversion itself is fairly easy. unbolt the doors (take the wiring out for the number-plate light) and top, and off they come. IIRC all the bolts are visible and easy to access.

As far as parts go......

You'll need something to cover the edges of the sides. Affectionately they're known as "hockey sticks".

They look like this:

You could try looking in a scrap yard, or I have seen some made of hardwood. The last part is the most troublesome though: the tailgate. Dead easy to fit, but almost impossible to find in anything approaching good condition. On the plus side, the ones from the MKII VW Caddy will fit too, but it's not a big plus in that respect.

Depending on what you're going to carry in it, something like a Bully Net might be of some use instead of a tailgate

(for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk1-vw-caddy-pick-up-bully-net-new-/190897799926?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c726542f6 although that's for a MKI)

Thanks very much, I'm a billboard poster by trade so don't really need a tailgate as everything will be strapped into the back! I've recently been puttin up the posters all you skoda boys would like the three good reasons to buy a new fabia! And the new yeti adventure!

^^^^^ That guy might have a tailgate too. :)
