C2v3 instead of wax?

Featured Replies

You can use C2v3 on top of AG but it really isn't necessary.

The C2 will bond to the raw paint with no issues and still give you the durability. I've been running C2 for a number of months now and it is the best product I've used, and I've been through the mill on waxes, sealants and polishes.

I wash about every 2-3 weeks and the beading/protection is still in place but I still top up every wash. What I like is the speed of application - it shaves hours off the application time for waxing.

I've only applied to flat paint eg non metallic but the results have been great.

I love c2v3 too.

I find that despite dried rain leaving spotting, it cleans off easier and still then looks freshly polished.

Gave away my newish litre of MER and the remains of autoglym life shine (from a dealer) but feel guilty that they are going to be disappointed with the results like I was.

I agree with Coops, you can apply directly after you have washed the car, so you don't need to wax as well. However if you have the time, you can apply C2V3 on top of your wax and get brilliant results, and its completely safe, it's been designed with this in mind.

I've not long been using C2V3 but can't praise it enough, wish I'd found it years ago!

I've been using C2 for a few years going through version 2 to the latest version 3. It is a dream to use, quick instant results. You can put it on top of other products but this will reduce it's life as it will bond with the product it is on top of, likewise you can put a wax on top of C2v3, but you won't get the benefits of the C2v3 which will now be beneath. Each to there own though. If using it on top of SRP (using it's filling abilities) durability of C2v3 will be reduced from the likes of eight months to maybe a quarter of a third but regular top ups in the form of a QD/drying aid will keep up the protection indefinately.

Some like wax on top of C2v3 for a deeper shine which I can appreciate but the gloss from C2v3 alone is outstanding.

Also the fact that it can be used on all substraights (glass, plastic, metal and paint) make it a one stop product (C2v3 will not restore the look of faded plastic but will add protection, for a product to restore plastic look at C4 (permanent restorer) of T1 (medium term restorer)).

"If using it on top of SRP" what on earth is SRP?

I would like to brag that I now know that QD means a quick detail, (quick polish to old folk like me)

SRP is Super Resin Polish as in the stuff from AG (Autoglym) it took me a few to figure it out. :)

aha thanks..Oh and Ag is autoglym...lol that makes some other posts more understandable.

Thankyou (again) sir

Hey no worries. Newbies are give one working week to revise then a test is given which you have to get 98% correct or you will be ostracised forever.

Only kidding.

It's two working weeks. :)

Thanks for the input guys going to give the G2v3 a go, detailingworld has a post saying it can be smeary so I will do a panel at a time.

It can be for some. There are so many variables it'd make your head hurt. But have two microfibres to hand (one to spread and one to buff), either apply by spraying two squirts directly onto the panel or three onto a microfibre (one for the cloth) and wipe on, then do a second panel then go back and buff both panels. If smearing is noticed at this stage, wipe over again with the application cloth and buff straight away. After this, just do panel at a time.
