About to buy a greenline...

Featured Replies

Just about to go and see a Fabia Greenline 1 and wander if there's anything in particular I should check for?

It's a 59 plate and has covered 53000 miles. Should it have had a cambelt change?

Thanks in advance

I think all the diesels are belt-driven cam and Skoda UK recommend a change at 4 years.

They say Cambelts should be replaced every 4 years or 80,000 miles. One thing to keep an eye out on is the diesel particle filter, Greenlines aren't the best for short journeys as they tend to clog the DPF.

I've got a Greenline I, I love it. Find it a lot more fuel efficient than the petrol one I had - plus can't complain at the £20 road tax!

Any particular way of checking the DPF? So being a 59 I'll be wanting a cambelt change then....

To be on the safe side, I'd say yes.

Thanks they agreed to change the cambelt

So you didn't buy the Greenline I after all then.
