  • (I know that I've said this before, but...) While you're changing bulbs, replace the standard "fried-egg" front indicators with Philips Silvervision (mine from Amazon)...they're silvered to blend in w

It's not the frequent washing that got to me.. it's that the finish shows every last chip, mark, scratch and swirl-mark etc. And my Mk1 Fabia wasn't even black, but very dark metallic blue. The only really dark car I've owned....and the last. Hope you have all the correct washing gear, as apparently most paintwork damage occurs during washing.

I saw my first black Sport in the garage when I went for a test drive last weekend, it looked very nice indeed with the black wheels and red stripe.  Enjoy your new car.  I haven't even got mine ordered yet and I'm jealous!

Nice!

The great thing about having a Black Citigo in Cumbria..... you don't have to sweat details like swirl marks, dust etc.... for half the year.......

After November the sun disappears and may re-emerge from hibernation in March....

I use Bilt Hamber, personal choice

More important than the actual products you use..it's the technique that's important. No sponges, brushes, chamois for drying etc. After all these years....they're wrong!

This website has lots of very good advice re washing, cleaning, products etc.

Sponge. That's a swear word isn't it ?

iv got a decent wash mitt that i used to use on my mini and always found it to be good so will use that. ill take a look at some cleaning stuff tomorrow. thanks for the replies :)

I'd rather use a sponge and scratch the paint than be seen with one of these on my hand!

Nobody should use Sponges anymore IMO

Wash mitts proven to be the best way to avoid minor scratches through washing

No matter what they look like :D

I've had my hand in worse looking things than that  .

I'll get my coat...........

Finally took the Citigo out for a run on our fantastic local roads.

Took it for a drive to Buttermere in the lake district about 10 miles from home :D
