Multifunction Steering Wheel failure....help

Featured Replies

I have a 2010 Octavia 2.0TDi SE and the multifunction steering wheel has packed up, ie nothing works, no horns, no volume control etc etc etc.

Any thoughts....car is 2 months out of warranty and I would like to have an idea of what might be causing this before I take it into the dealer.

Many thanks

May sound daft but have you checked for a blown fuse ?

Then find someone near you with VCDS who can check for faults for you.

Yes, checked all fuses and all OK.......I'm assuming that as nothing is working on the steering wheel that no power is getting to the wheel itself which is odd. Just trying to find out if this is a common fault.

Did you buy the car new? You could try Skoda otherwise for good will if you have it serviced by them.

Not heard of it before, I suspect a rare failure.

As above if its had all its services at a skoda dealer, you may get a goodwill repair as only 2months out of warranty

I had this happen to our 2011 Octavia scout, the airbag also stopped working. It was the slip ring (I think) that was faulty, it was fixed under warranty.

Despite the car only being 2 months out of warranty, Skoda will not repair under warranty as the car had been serviced by a non franchised dealer when it was a lease car.

Although mine never showed issues Skoda did a recall for steering wheel update as some controls may stop working

Recall. 91G6
