Talivan warning - Jesmond Road

Featured Replies

Just to warn our north east members if they are headed down jesmond road into the city to watch out for the talivan parked outside the cemetry.

Pretty sure i've just got caught doing 50 in a 30... wasnt paying particular attention to surrounding or speed, so cant complain, but i still think they are *******.

I might get away with since there was a peugeot doing exactly the same speed in the left lane just behind me, but if not, then i cant really complain i suppose. Couldnt have come at worse time really, as i'm already totally skint.

Paul, delete this thread or you'll get prosecuted for obstructing a constable. it's happened before.

thought for a moment there you'd made a 'typo' - was half expecting Afghan terrorists in the suburbs of the Toon !!!

spose we're all a bit jumpy at the moment eh?

Are you sure it was a camera van and not an ANPR?

Oh , and on the subject , on thursday afternoon there was a fair bit about how all over south Wales they had a higher police presence to re-assure motorists.

And how did they do this , you might ask?

Three speed camera vans on the M4!!!

So rest assured , if Osama Bin Laden was doing 80 he will be fined in due course.

That's a weight of my mind!

**** for a moment I thought it was the Tellyvan come to check my TV license !!

Well it had a speed camera symbol and a "safespeed" logo on the side, so i'm pretty sure yes...

Wow , one that's actually clearly marked.

Makes a pleasant change

Which makes me wonder how you can get into trouble for posting info about mobile cameras really. The cameras are put up on 'accident blackspots' and so the whole purpose of putting the camera there is to get people to slow down. Now if you put a warning up then people know its a hazardous area and so won't speed.

Or do the police need more dougnut money?

If I actually ever saw a British policeman eating donuts, I think I would p my pants laughing.

Or do the police need more dougnut money?

BINGO!!

Yep, once you see past the bushes it was hiding behind.

Just to let you guys know, the Talivan is there again. Just passed it on the way to work. Seems strange that it's there in the middle of rush hour...
