Featured Replies

It does look a bit messy as u already have the pid, its a bit like those bluetooth screens you see stuck on the dash of polos. Feels a bit like old car new tech

  • Hi all,   I ordered my Skoda Citigo 5dr Elegance last week with all the options, so very excited   However when I went online today I saw this DAB Option on the configurator page.   I have just

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update for you all.

I have been in contact with Skoda UK Head Office and had a chat about the comments on their skoda-auto.com site regarding interior changes and DAB option. Unfortunately this is only going to be available on the continent (european market) at the moment and they have also confirmed that they don't have any future updates/additional equipment planned for the UK Market any time soon which may be a relief for some people who have just ordered like myself :)

Cheers

Alex.

Hey Alex. That's a shame - but thanks for confirming.

I see that it's possible to get a fascia so that a normal DIN size radio can be used, but I'm not sure how that would work with the PID and music/navigation etc...

Hopefully it'll make its way over eventually.

An aftermarket stereo that integrates with the PID would be great

Proper line outs for a small sub etc.

That would be something I would be interested in rather than just DAB tbh

Kenwood do one for the Octavia/Golf platform, so you never know

As someone eagerly awaiting their car, I'm glad of your update Alex. Was a bit upset when I read the previous post about the updates!

I know exactly how you feel, it's a relief, I don't want my car to be out of date before I even get it haha :D

Well DAB is now an official option on the UP for £200...

If it is a £200 option and it can be retrofitted, what kind of price do you think it would be to buy the unit on its own?

Im presuming it will cost a bit more to buy separately?

TBH I have DAB in my Octy and it is very good but you wouldn't find me paying £200 to get it as an option on any car.

When I say DAB is good, it is down here for the journeys I regularly make.

Having recently driven up across the country to the Rugby area then onto York it was crap just driven a few miles it would drop and pick up so many times it was not worth trying to listen too and switched to FM!

Like I said earlier id prefer an aftermarket stereo that integrated with the PID, but just dont want my car to get left behind on the newer revisions

From the picture it appears to be the RMT 200 unit. I also notice that the VW Up is getting the Fender sound system, which includes better speakers and a Sub in the spare wheel well.

So this unit will have a sub out? :)

Thats good, but my spare wheel is occupied so id place an aftermarket sub elsewhere

The Groove-up! comes with the standard stereo and the Fender sound system -but the DAB can be added as an option to the configuration as well.
