LE Wheels your opinions

Featured Replies

Hi,

When I got my LE in March it didnt come with its Monza R alloys but was wearing a set of Zeniths. I dont mind the Zeniths but they could do with a refurb or i'm thinking I could use as winters?

I am looking at getting a Set of Monza R alloys to replace the Zeniths but cant decide if black ones would look better, what do you think?

Also would an offset of 45 fit? Sorry don't brilliant when it comes to alloys

I certainly wouldn't look to be paying money for Monza Rs. They're renowned for being quite soft, and prone to buckling.

IMHO it's just not an le without the original wheels in silver.

Regards whoosh

If you want the look of Monza Rs, get some silver Pro Race 1.2s. Better than the Monzas and ET45 will be fine - that's probably what the Monzas are.

Agree entirely. Pro Race 1.2 if you want to retain the same look.

It'll then be an LE with proper wheels :)

the Pro Race 1.2 come in

8.0 x 18 e11 / 15 / 20 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 53

Will 8.0 18 et 45 fit? and with on 225 / 40

Thanks :)

Yes, no problem.

I run 8x18 wheels, ET42 offset, 225/40/18 tyres.

thanks very much for your help :)

hi

I replaced mine with fox fx004 multi spoke alloys that look very similar but are not made of plastacine like the Monza's and cost less than the Monza's

photos are on the site somewhere if you a quick search you should find them

search " new alloys for le octy " and pics are on that

I think the fox has more spokes than the pro race 1.2's

I've got Pro Race 1.2s: 8x17 et45s.  Perfect offset

18" zeniths all the way, the LE wheels look carp (and they are soft - cheap aftermarkets by team dynamics I believe not an OEM design)

both wheels are ok but le has multi spoke as standard . so my opinion is keep it multi spoke on you le whatever ever make you chose to buy to replace the monzas . I cant see the point in replacing a rim that is prone to buckling with another of the same . if you can afford it change them all .

Mine on 18" Pro Race 1.2s, ET45.

Team Dynamics make a direct fit wheel with a 57.1mm centre bore, no fitting kit required. Talk to W8 Performance (Briskoda sponsor) as they supply TD wheels.

Yes, agree with all the points about the LE (Monza's) compared to the ProRace 1.2's (that are only £30 or so more per corner and are what Skoda UK should have used in the first place, particularly as they did such a great job with the seats). The Monza's aren't the worst wheel in the world, but they aren't the strongest when it comes to UK pot holes either.

Oddly, and in relation to the OP, I have just sold my beloved LE today and the buyer (who is on here) was looking to swap them for a set of stronger zeniths or neptunes - talk about coincidence!

They look really nice just pm'd W8 Performance

Pro race 1.2s in 19?

I'd definitely keep the monzas or something very similar to them. Second choice zeniths and at a push some iffy flowery neptunes

Mine are 18s

Personally liking the Ronal R54 at the minute.

Not a problem, worth the wait. I think they really change the car. Especially after coming from zeniths.

Thanks again
