tire/tyre wear

Featured Replies

how do you lot find it ?? im just finding the orignal rear conti's are on the way out they were swapped to the front about 10k ago so done just shy of 25k and i dont think i have ever had any tyres that have lasted that long mind you i have only been using them for the last 15k of its life.

so anyway soon to have pilot exalto pe2's all around mind you for 200 a pair they better be worth it

Based on mine (standard Furby, other than the junk mentioned in my sig):

* Fronts will probably need changing at 20k. Rears are 7/7/7 still so should be fine for quite some time :)

I've got the Contis on mine

Had conti sport contact 2 on mine and forced into changing the front yesterday after 26000 miles!!! Not bad I think. Brought the rears on to the front but don't think I will get much more out of them.

Have to say I liked the feel of the conti's and tried to get another set to replace the fronts but turns out they are on back order from manufacturer. I had to chnage them this week as going on a long trip to cornwall on Friday so after a bit of reading up got a good deal on a set of Toyo T1-R,

My Eco Conti's are still going (bar one) are 37.5k miles, that includes one at the front but is getting a little worn now. Now thats economy.

I did hear that he does his make-up as he drives! Just kidding :P

I got 18k(ish) out of the standard fit jobbies then had about 2mm left in them

What's the legal minimum again, is it 3/3/3 ?

Not far behind you. Mine you can't wait too get shut of the falkern's. Ride is not nice. Soft compund but stiff tyre wall.

What suspension have you got on these days?

I'm on my second set of P zeros.

Might try something else next.

Yep, girly driver here. Unless I'm abroad trying to keep up with Roo of course

Roo is the biggest nancy of the lot

standard springs with eibach dampers. The ride was nice with the michelins nut since putting the falkerns on... They grip well in both dry and wet but ride is just not nice. You can also run them flat :D

Thinking about nero's or Toyo R's next.

Roo is the biggest nancy of the lot

Not when I've got a 100bhp car and he has a 140bhp car. I had to work my right foot hard I can tell ya.

But I don't go squealing round corners or doing burnouts or anything daft. I just drive and I get quite a good mpg and tyre life.

You did good with your little PD100, Roo should be ashamed of himself. He'll probably come on here and say he is running his car in or something and couldn't use it to it's full potential :rofl:

I try to avoid screaming round bends, problem is that some of the nice fast bends are quite possible at 70mph and it probably needs to work a bit hard at it with that heavy block on top ;)

As long as I at least get 20k per set of fronts I'll be happy. The wear appears to be extremely even between left/right front so that's good. Once they're ready for replacement I'll just do so. The rears look like they will last for quite a while :D

Just had to replace the Standrd Continentals on my Fabia Eleagance 1.9TDi after 15.5k. Wear was worse on outside of Passenger side and inside of Driver side. I had the same problem on my Fabia Comnfort 1.9SDi. Problem attributed to Roundabouts. Put Michelins on the SDi and the wear rate was a lot better, 12k on them when I traded it in, and they looked good for another few k. Just put BF Goodrich on the TDi, will see how they go.
