EGR and anti-shudder valve

Featured Replies

Just looking for a wee bit of advice.

"A while back" :-) the engine light came on - on my '05 Octavia 2.0PD-TDI DSG - the car drove fine and performed as it did prior to the light.

I did a bit of research on here and the net and (suspecting EGR or anti-shudder) got the codes read, they were:

  • P3101 Motor for Intake Flap V-157: Open/Short
  • P3102 No Signal (from the intake flap sensor)
  • P0691 Fan 1 control low circuit

I then cleaned out the EGR and intake flap as per various helpful posts on briskoda. However when re-assembled the engine light remains on (not yet had a fresh code read).

My question is - should the engine light go out by itself when the problem is rectified or do I need to get the codes reset?

If it is supposed to go out on it's own then I guess I now need to replace the intake flap as it looks probable that this is the faulty part given these codes.

Any help appreciated. Cheers

The old errors need clearing for the light to go out

I've just had this problem on mine. You need to clear the codes. I ended up up replacing the asv.

Aha! ok guys thanks for this. I'll get the codes cleared first - have a sinking feeling that it'll need a new valve tho.

Cheers
