Long term ownership

Featured Replies

Was wondering who here has been "in for the long haul"?

On the 24th this month I will have been a happy Skoda vRS owner for eight years. Bought new from Trans City in Walthamstow, we've traveled this isle for 63,000 miles and counting, with just a few niggles. Have no plans to change anytime soon, unless those numbers come in  ;)

1st Octavia was 4 years and about 40k,just traded the mk2 after 6.5 years and 80k.

Well I was on my 8 th skoda until my garage p!33ed me off so I cut my nose off to spite my face :( , however I'm toying with the idea of purchasing an Octavia estate or rapid , however the rapid seems to be getting a few bad comments on build quality ?

Had my Ibiza vrs thing for 10 years and 1 month from new. Now on 130k miles and running sweetly.

Will be giving it an Italian tune up around Oulton park on the 8th of October for a treat.

Had it longer than any woman i've been with lol!

Spending money on modificatios over all these years has kept me interested in it other wise i'd be board of it.

Had my mk2 Golf for four years and 38,000 miles this week (27th) Plans in store to give it a new lease of life and hopefully many more happy miles of motoring. I think sometimes you just bond with your wheels, can't imagine life without the bird of prey :D

I had my my old Octavia for 9 years, put 108k of the 115k miles on it.

There is something of the faithful old hound about them

Well it had started to leak fluids at unhelpful moments...

So long as he went to a good place afterwards :D

Over 6yr now (75k). I'd probably change but can't afford anything that'll temp me.

I've not had my vRS all that long, but loving it anyway.

My Nan's had her Nova forever! Classic little old lady pootling along! I don't actually know the mileage but she's had it for as long as I can remember so a good 20+ years. I'd be surprised if it's topped 60k miles, I'll check next time I see her!

We've had our vRS for 6yrs in November and done an additional 60k miles to 103k.

I've had mine for about 8.5 years now.

Had the Octy for 7 years (since new). 70K never any problems. Giving a Citigo Sport a go now.

9.5 years and 124k miles.

Travelled in a Portugese e220 Merc taxi last night, 5 yrs old and 700000km :-)

I bought mine in June 2004 and it's still going strong. 129000km and counting plus a move from UK to New Zealand :D

I bought this:

Old camera made it look orange!!

I now have this:

7+years and 50k added on Fabia vRS.

No plans or thoughts on selling anytime soon.

Running like a dream apart from the battery nearing the end of its 8 years of service.

I had my old MkI Octy for just over nine years from new. Part-ex'd at 76k miles as I fancied a change, rather than needing to.

Been driving Skoda's since before I passed my test and owned vRS Skoda's for the last 5 years. I am thinking about pedalling something else next just to broaden my palette a bit.

The view is far better down under!

I'm new to Skoda purchasing my first one just 2.5 years ago, then bought another for the wife and just about to trade my Fabia VRS for a Mk III Octy VRS.

I think I am here to stay :)

Thanks for joining in everyone

Bought mine new 9 years ago. :)

The mongrel has been in my ownership for 9.5 years now.  Feb 2004 I got her, just weeks after smashing up the previous fabia incarnation.  No plans to move it on any time soon either!  I would rather break it for spare parts!

I'd like to keep a car for a long time and get my moneys worth out of it... but I get restless.

Mind you, the Yeti is the first (normal) car that after 18 months I still really like and have no plans to sell. :)

Which considering the fact that I've had one or two is high praise indeed!
