Anyone got a N/S carrier/lock bracket going spare? (1J4 839 768)

Featured Replies

Ok, i been an idiot & lost (accidently thrown away!) the bracket that helps you fit the door lock into the door along with the carrier.

I had taken mine off in order to get the carrier off not realising that it’s a bugger to refit the lock without it.

This is the part shown from another thread...

Apparently, Tech1e spends most of his seeing how far he can throw them.....

Happy to pay for part & postage.

Thanks.

Chris, I don't understand why this bit helps, but I'm sure Tech1e will be along sometime soon to tell you a better way of doing whatever's the tricky bit...

In the meantime, the part number I quoted in my thread was from an offside rear bracket, I think the one you'll want is 1J4 839 767, and from what I can see from here the latest version has a B suffix on the end of the part number.

In the event that no-one has a spare, I doubt this part will be very expensive from a Skoda dealership.

Thanks for the part number update.

Doesnt the bracket support the lock actuator when fitting the carrier back on.

I'm replacing my lock, which I have to fit before re-fitting the carrier. I'm finding it extremely difficult to fit the carrier with the lock in place, the metal rod for the door knob just doesnt like being pulled down to enable me to fit it into the hole.

I thought, if I have the bracket, I could mount the lock to the carrier & fit the lock & carrier together, which means I dont have to mess with getting the metal rod through.
