insurence on the vRS's for an 18 year old

Featured Replies

was kinda bored so thought i would see how much it would cost to insure an octavia vRS and fabia vRS.

standard things 18 yr old, just passed test, car parked on drive in council estate area.

octavia=Your Quotation

Annual :

rediculous !

Ouch!

Try elephant, they were one of the few people who would insure me on the Furby vRS, other places gave a flat NO.

Also worth putting on maybe a parent over 40/50 if they have their own car as a named driver, this can sometimes reduce the premium.

i did the searchs through www.1stquote.co.uk they do an online search through all the company to find the best quote.

when I was 21 I got a qoute for an impreza Turbo.

new car in blue limited to 6k a year 3 years NCB (at the time) garages alarm etc

wait for it

it just seems stupid that they would give you a quota like that... mind i'm sure there's a rich boy somewhere willing to pay whatever it costs to insure the car he wants.

Just did a quote on that site for my new car. 2000 Porsche Boxster S, the figure was

1st qoute wont even qoute me on my fabia lol

mad!

1st qoute wont even qoute me on my fabia lol

They quote me 2.5k :( (20, no NCB, 1 Claim)

Maybe I should do pass plus or something - might get it down a ton or two... Then I can think about buying the car...

I can't believe some of these prices, it's probably cheaper to insure a Ford Cosworth than a Fabia!

They quoted me over 400 quid more than I'm paying for my car and that's with their standard 8k p/a, which is less than I'm insured for.

I'll stick to my company methinks!

DM, penfold said to try greenlight insurance

If you can afford the car, you can afford the insurance. If not, you're buying too expensive/risky a car. Insurance is based on statistics. The best way to get your costs down is to get older, and not make any claims. Boring, but true.

That sounds old and grumpy, but it's not meant to be. What I'm trying to say is you have to budget for car AND insurance, not borrow up to the hilt to buy a car, then find you can't afford insurance for it.

No, I agree with that.

I was all set to buy a Civic Type R at 19 years of age, found the car, had the money, and was getting very excited.

Obvioulsy before buying I checked the insurance, but they all came back to the tune of

Just Thought...I'll try a quote for my Realistically Affordable Dream Car:

Porka 944 Turbo 250Bhp Model :)

28, 4yrs NCB, 3 points with 25yr Old Bird on the policy

Well Fook Me: Fully Comp

Whoa....Screw The Porsche!

Mitsibushi Evo 8 MR FQ320......

i just tried churchill for some insurance quotes, as i MAY in the near future get an octy or fabia vrs (even though the Honda S2000 is my dream, the 4k+ insurance quotes are a no no).

so there i am, 21 years old, Zero NCB but no crashes/convictions.

My quotes came out at:

I have found this happens a lot to me too

I also have instances where something that resides in a much higher group and is of a similar value, being quoted far lower (Fiesta ST against Fab vRS for example)

The mind boggles....
