yeah i noticed! i think i need to put the rear door wires under the front door sill cos the front and rear wires join into one( well four wires connect into 2wires). u got ne ideas?

where can u get the rubber ducting?

The black (negative) wire can be connected to any metal mounting point on the car body.

Just a stupid question, is it ok to also take -ve off the battery or is there a particular reason to go off a metal mounting instead ??

Steve, good luck with your install. Could you please avoid txtspk in your posts. Ta.

or do you want that in full?

It's in the forum guidelines. Just a polite request, no need to get agitated. Thanks.

Pretty sure it's just for convenience so you don't have to run a return wire back to the battery for the earth. :D

but back to my original problem before the title of this post gets changed. kidding on nick

lummox, how do i connect the live feed to terminal 30?

Steve

Quickest and dirtiest way would be to use a Scotchlok connector on whatever wire comes out of it. Other methods include soldering direct onto the connector, or baring some of the wire and soldering onto it, but if you are not confident with a soldering iron, get some Scotchloks. They crimp onto the existing wire and your new one, and bridge between the two.

so all i would need to do is get the wire from terminal 30 and connect this to the live wire from my central locking kit using a scotchlok? and ground the black wire obviously.

do i just take out the fusebox on the dash side to access this wire?

Cheers, steve

Yup to the first two - not sure about fusebox removal.

Just making sure, you know the way jump leads tell you to take negative from the engine grounding point rather than the -ve of battery (is there a reason for this :o )

Yes - to avoid any sparks near the battery where boiled off hydrogen may explode!

So where exactly on the engine should you put it ? Any metal part of the block or a specific point ?

Cheers :)

Pick a nice big piece of unpainted metal - the lifting eyes are often a good point, and away from any fans.
