vrs tsi misfire

Featured Replies

Tonight on way home I noticed a misfire when I put my foot down hard at 2500 rpm. Ie under max load. It goes, hesitates then carries on accelerating. It otherwise runs fine.

Any ideas coil? Turbo?

Car is 4 yes old with about 55k and

running map for about 50k.

Any suggestions welcome, I assume it will get worse.

Coil pack possibly. Any EML light?

Check with your dealer and see if you have had the recall on coil packs as its a free replacement of all 4 and worth doing if you haven't already been done.

How long have you had the CAI fitted? I have something similar and put it down to the CAI as I only noticed it after it was fitted, had the plugs changed recently and it improved it a little.

I had this last year. Misfire in cylinders 2 and 4 at the same time when accelerating hard in 3rd. Symptoms exactly as you described. My car was mapped on v-power and I'd switched to using Tesco 99. Went back to v-power and not had any issues since.

Only had my Tsi Octy 2 weeks but I fully serviced it with 38k on the clock, found number 2 spark plug loose   new plugs fitted anyhow and cured the problem.....anyone have latest coil packs part numbers

Possible crank position sensor, as well as the first most suspect "coil pack" as mentioned above.

Hi - my wife accidentally put petrol in my 2007 Diesel Skoda Fabia VRS SE. Well long story short I drained all the petrol out and filled it with diesel and replaced the fuel filter. Its was only driven a few miles with the mixed fuel.

After taking it out for a run it has started cutting out at 3000 revs or so- Runs perfectly well up to that level.

I have taken it to a mechanic and he reckons its the Crank Sensor that needs replacing. He has quoted 3 hours labour to fit it and part costs £40. So that a total of £240

Do any of you experts out there have a view of whether this is a fair cost and also whether the mixed fuel could result in this issue with the crank? He says he thinks the high pressure fuel filter and injectors are fine

Many thanks for your help

I resolved my issue with a set of new plugs.

not certain about your problem above. Maybe start as a new topic so more members read it.
