Back in the fold (again) with another vRS

Featured Replies

Well

Swmbo decided she wanted to sell her red vRS, and return to a BMW 320d mSport.

Her car sold to a terrific young fella from South Wales who got a truly excellent example.

But the BMW proved so leaden and dull in comparison that she now recanted and decided to go the vRS route gain, with the alternative of an Ibiza FR / Cupra.

Many calls later, with many disappointments along the way concerning condition (most looked like they had been subject to a drive-by shooting in Mogadishu) or history (actually, lack of), up pops a vRS 7 miles away.

Owned from new by 2 brothers (in their late 40's) with full history, full mots present, 40k from new, and the bonus (?) of a Jabbasport 197bhp remap, k&n panel, 160PD air intake, front strut brace, full Milltek stainless exhaust, new grooved discs front & rear, pioneer double-din stereo with Bluetooth, upgraded speakers etc.

Oh and heated front seats.

First thoughts were 'boy-racer' material, but no, mature owners and a sensible test-drive.

Downside?

It's black.

Swmbo doesn't like black, likes red even less, yellow s a definite no-no, and as for silver....

Oh well, it happens.

Anyway, glad to be back in the fold!

Pics?

I have a red one with low miles if your interested! As im after a black one

Must have a bigger turbo too if it's putting out 197bhp?

So far all I can tell you is it has a jabbasport remap and a rolling road printout (although as we all know, rolling roads are notorious for their differing read outs)

Swmbo drove it home and loved it, so looking forward to updating about 'Der Bomber' as the kids have christened it (although when I was a kid that was Gerd Muller, the German striker from the 1974 World Cup....)
