I'm Andy and I'm from just south of Bath in the south west. Always been into my old opels (and even the odd Vauxhall and I still have the old Jamaica yellow GL hatch mk2 cav my mum left me when she passed away and I was ten. Kinda gave me a lifelong love of retro euro boxes! It's ended up with a heavily modified C20GET from the states. My daily car was an Ascona C I fitted a 3.2 GM V6 too, with tubular manifolds, the works and a 6 speed box for my drives across Europe from the UK. However, I'm getting on a bit, and my daily smokers which have typically been Omega MV6's etc. have just about gotten a little too long in the tooth to reliably be thrown several thousand miles in regular, single days or so.

 

Cue a little Fabia hire car, which took a drive from bath to Spain this summer in it's stride and the rest we say, is history. 

 

Still going to keep the projects going as I love the old stuff, but the new whip is a Octy VRS Estate TDi, which we ordered last week.

 

It's worth saying that every-time I had a question, it was this site I hit and found the info I needed. I run a club for the old stuff, but this is bang up to date. Congrats on a great forum, and what looks like a great club. Looking forward to being part of it!

How long do you have to wait for the new motor?

All very vague at the moment. Been told it will be another week or so until a built week is know. What's typical for them? 10-12 weeks? Would be great for Xmas or the day before as have to drive to Europe - but kinda doubtful at present. Yourself?
