New Turbo Needed!

Featured Replies

Hi,

Long story short, I managed to blow my turbo on my Mk I (2005) Octavia vRS yesterday, leaving my on the side of the M1 (I wasn't overly happy!).

A mate is going to sort it for me, but I need to buy a turbo. I know the engines are pretty much the same as those in the VW Golf (and others), are the turbos exactly the same?

Thanks,

Stefan.

The turbo's are different. Your best bet is to get one from a vrs or if you want to upgrade now might be the best time. The ko3s on the 150bhp golf is different as someone on here found out recently

Would you say it's safer to wait to get the old turbo off and check the part number? Or are the vRS turbos all standard for the Mk1s?

AUQ engined octavias will be the same. If you have any interest in upgrading in the future try go for a hybrid turbo. Not going to cost much more. Don't go for the crap off Ebay, with a turbo, if the price seems to good to be true, it is!

I'll have a think about the upgrade, but I'll keep your comment in mind when I look at prices.

Thanks.

Spk to beach buggy turbo can supply a new core with updated bearing for a really good price
