This was the sorry state of affair that was looking at me earlier today....

 

 

Decided that I needed to sort out the horrid chrome grille surround at long last! So did that, and ended up getting carried away and taking loads of other bits off for spraying too!

 

After advice on here I opted for some Black Magic. Definitely good advice! Did the grille first - I must say I'm impressed with the finish I've managed to get! Plastered the lacquer on for the final coat, and ended up with pretty much a perfect finish - looks like it was done professionally which I'm chuffed with :-)  It's flatted in the picture - going to polish it up before I put it on and I've given it chance to harden properly.

 

 

 

Got one mirror and one fog light surround nearly finished. Flat back tomorrow and then a final coat of lacquer.

 

 

 

 

Started on the fog light backing plastics and the grille itself today. Got them in plastic primer. Cleaning and keying them took blummin' ages, especially the grille! They're all going satin black.

 

 

 

Can't wait to get it all back together with new badge on the front. Going to tint all the front lights as well :-)

This would explain why my missus said that there's something wrong with the front of your car :P

Should be a good contrast against the red. Been thinking of black against the blue would look good

Plus if you get a crap finish get ash to do something useful

I can give you a hand with it if you want? I've fitted 2 now. The second after my first got destroyed by a hedgepig crossing the A483 in front of me at night!!

It was a one a week on nights but we've changed shifts now so that's knocked on the head for the next 6 months. When I get used to new shifts I'll drop you a message about splitter
