Can anyone help ?   I need an exhaust for my recent garage find Skoda, I have just got it running again after twenty years in a dry garage.  I have done a full service and renewed all the braking system but I have been unable to find an exhaust box anywhere, I am starting to think I will never get it on the road, can anyone suggest a source of exhausts please ?  Thanks, Dave

Briskoda isn't a great place to ask...but Skoparts Int will have one or Daverapid if your are within reach of NE Hertfordshire I'm sure. I think I sold the spare one I had.

I am near GRANTHAM Lincolnshire.  

Relatively central then. I think I might have a spare one but getting it to you would be a challenge. I would suggest contacting either SKOPARTS INTERNATIONAL a UK based, enthusiast based firm specialising in sourcing parts for older Skoda's. Or, the Skoda Owners Club's treasurer and technical guru, Daverapid.

I tried Skoparts and got an email saying he had one and the price, I emailed straight back asking how to pay etc and have heard nothing since :think: I really need this part and do not know what to do next, I found a phone number for them on ebay but no one answers are they usually slow replying ??

 

Chill a little - Skoparts is one guy doing it in his spare time with small volumes and with small volume sellers in CZ. You have bought an old Eastern Block car  - spares aren't falling out of trees and some things aren't available.....there will be lots of hard to find things like this....patience is going to be needed. I'm sure Paul will get back to you shortly.

Thanks again,  I was just worried that he hadn't received my email and didn't know how else to contact him.  I will hang fire and hopefully he will get in touch when possible.   I never imagined an exhaust would be so hard to find    I am itching to get the car back on the road for a few runs before the salt starts getting thrown around.

I can appreciate your desire to get it back on the road! Sometimes it is a frustrating part of the process waiting for spare parts. As Hawkeracing says, Skoparts International is being run by an enthusiast in his spare time. Drop him another line in a couple of days if you haven't heard from him. 

Will do, I appreciate all the advice on here I didn't realise Paul was only doing the parts business part time hence I did get a little worried when I couldn't get an answer to my email.   I promised the original owners son I would take it back to show him once it was done as he remembered his father driving it into the garage twenty years ago and it never moved again, it wasn't even started !   I had it running within a couple of hours once getting it home and have slowly worked my way through it until the exhaust is the final hurdle.   I am amazed at it's condition both inside and out there's no rust and the interior is unmarked, not bad for what was once a "budget" car. I got all it's service history, owners manual, jack etc so all in all not a bad buy for £150

Quick update on the exhaust situation,  Paul at Skoparts  came up trumps with just what I needed at a VERY reasonable price and was a pleasure to deal with.  Thanks everyone for the advice and to anyone out there looking for parts I highly recommend contacting Paul at Skoparts, he is the first place I will go to in future as and when I need parts.
